I recently saw a pic of BRW's Bull Mastiff handle and man they are sweet. I was wondering are they compatible for any razor?

Not exactly any razor.

As I understand it, the threads are tapped for the Gillette heads by default: Tech, Old, and New.

Bob can also tap it to work with the Merkur, and Muhle/Edwin Jagger heads if you request it.

Oddly enough, if tapped for Merkur/Muhle/Edwin Jagger the handle will still work for the Gillette heads as well. :thumbup1:

That's true, the reason I only use the Metric tap on request is that many of the old Gillettes have threads that are worn under size
(especially Old Types).
If I use the larger Metric tap where it's not needed a person with a old Gillette might get a loose fit on their handles threads.

Thanks! I'm tempted to get one but right now just isn't the right time, I just restocked everything and a little extra. If I only found it earlier I would have found a way to fit it in but I shouldn't buy anything else for a while. Damn the RAD is kicking in again!

U fellers make me want my Bull Mastiff
Bob said they won't be in from plating until sometime next week so it may be two weeks or better before I see one . I REALLY look forward to it.

I cannot believe how HEAVY it is! I will have to get used to the heft when shaving but this is one Quality product!! :thumbup1:

Alas my famous Mystery Handle is now relegated to the spare drawer. I may auction it off

Looks like you had a New Short Comb head to use with Bob's Bull Mastiff handle. Nice, I have one like it but the old gold plate is almost gone. The Short Tooth head I have came from a Gillette New I picked up on auction.

I have Bob's Deluxe Bull Mastiff and also a Bull Mastiff Mark 2 from a B & B member. The Short Tooth seems milder than either my New Long Tooth or my Goodwill New Long Tooth. I hope to get my Short Tooth head plated in nickel for use with the Mark 2 handle. I like the New Long Tooth head a great deal and use it most of the time, but it can bite if I get in a hurry or heavy handed. I think the Short Tooth head on the Mark 2 handle will be a great tool for those days when I have to shave in a hurry. I'm sure it will be great as a main razor too.

It's actually an Old type head. The giveaway is the presence of the studs poking through the bottom plate.

Thanks fellers :001_smile

I was thinking that my Old Type has REALLY made a big step up!

It started out in the 1920's as a bottom of the line "Brownie" type razor sold cheap or given away and over the years it lost it's handle and acquired an unknown origin Mystery Handle....becoming a Frankenrazor in the process and now thanks to Cooncatbob's craftmanship is has became a genuine Bull Mastiff  Maybe the nicest razor for several miles around.

Here she is perched safely in my homemade "Hobo Stand" after my shave tonight.

That's an awesome picture. My Bull Mastiff XL (with New head, I already have a Tech head for it) is hopefully shipping out this week. I can't wait!!

Not rust but Dollar General spray paint covering a rough textured coat hanger :thumbup1:
It's Appalachian Folk Art.
