Thanks! I just ordered my gear and will be set to start shaving by midweek next. Im not particularly fond of shaving, I've been begrudgenly shaving ever since I went into Marine Corps bootcamp where they showed us how to shave. At the time I was ony 17 and had no reason to shave, but after a few months of shaving everyday for inspection I quickly developed a full-on man beard. One time I skipped shaving and thought I could get away with it, but some hardass Gunny made me dry shave my peach fuzz off.

I have these item coming in the mail: merkur 33C DE razor, merker and feather blades, proraso cream, and a tweezerman badger brush. I plan on using an oversized coffe mug to lather up in. I watched all of Mantic's Shave Tutor videos so I think I be able to get this hobby down without much difficulty.

Anyway, after spending $100s of dollars on mach3 razors I finally bit the bullet and entered into this unique world of quality shaving.

Mailcall! I recieved my Merkur razor and blades today. I also got a few samples an All-Over Wash for face, hair, and body from Jack Black, a Hand Cream from L'Occitane, and a Hydrating Lotion spf 15 from Baxter of CA, Im not sure what this last one is for maybe an after shave? I normally don't use after shave, when I did in the past it was Nivea lotion that felt pretty good (no alcohol).

Anyway, I did not get my shaving cream yet is it OK to break in my razor with some GEL shaving cream from a can? Or is this like driving a Ferarri on its rims?
