+1... the whole time I was watching this, I was doing mental backflips trying to decide if I think this is for real.

It's no joke apparently. I like that the fighter has to be a rated chess player. Otherwise he'd go for the knockout every time. It sets up an interesting dynamic when one of the combatants knows the other is stronger on the board or in the ring. Lewis and Klitchko are chess players, how would that be for a world championship! Hmm, maybe a couple of years too late, but it would be a great exhibition.

I was hoping that you could slug your opponent every time you captured one of his pieces, instead of an official boxing round.

This sport is very similar to a biathlon (skiing/shooting) that is about physical endurance and then precision and concentration too.
