Since starting wet shaving with a DE about two weeks ago, I remembered that I had purchased in a German flea market a couple of shaving goods years ago that I promptly put away in a box and forgot about. Below are two items that I bought--a Gillette travel kit, and a German razor blade sharpener.

Sorry for the bad photography--I'll try to get better pictures--but can anyone tell me anything about these two pieces? Should I try shaving with the Gillette, or is it a piece of junk? And what about the razor sharpener?

Here's the razor kit:

And here are two pictures of the razor sharpener:

What do you all think?

It's a Fat Handle Tech in an Aristocrat Case.....

Shouldn't be a problem in the world to shave with. Nice Mild razor..... Go For It !

Sorry, that's about the extent of the info I can give you ....

The fellows are right, that is a Fat Handled Gillette Tech in an Aristocrat case. Great shaving razor for sure.

The blade sharpener was great in it's day but does not work on today's blades. A neat piece for collecting of shaving history just not for use.

That sharpener's a cool looking piece, no doubt. But yeah, what they all said. :thumbup1:

techically it is called a thick handle tech; and it feels great in your hands and shaves great, the gold ones have not held up well, but the silver color can be found in almost mint condition
thank you,

I agree with the others with regards to the blade sharpener. Even if it did work, is it really worth trying to sharpen a blade that in reality costs around 10 - 15c each?
