I am a 48 yo black male(who used to suffer from ingrown hairs, razor rash, and razor bumps-no longer!) w/ coarse, wiry, curly, graying facial hair. The hair(which remains) on my head is coarse and curly. Both areas get shaved 3-4 a week.
Face gets 3-4 passes( 2 wtg, 1 xtg, 1 atg). Head gets 2 passes(1 wtg, 1atg, and blade buffing).
Most shaves are followed with an alum block and w/h after the warm water splash and cold water splash. then a balm is applied followed by a splash depending on my mood or the scent I'm using. Hope this helps.

Hm, interesting question. I have pretty much normal skin, and medium whiskers. I generally shave every day, unless I'm pressed for time...

1957 Red Tip is the backup
Any one of my other SS's is third place...
Blades:
Red Packs
7 O'Clock Greens. These two can go either way
Feathers in my SS's
Shave Creams:
Currently only have one: CO Bigelow from Bath and Body Works. It's pretty good stuff, but I'm moderately turned off by the scent, so I don't use it very often. Instead I mainly use:
Shave Soaps:
I wander back and forth between Mama Bear's and Honeybee Spa.
Currently I'm using Honeybee Spa Dragon's Blood, but that could change the next time I shave depending on what scent I'm in the mood for...
After shaves:
Ice Blue Aqua Velva is my go-to

Beard type
Coarse but not dense. I think it might take me as long as two weeks before I could sport a beard that wouldn't embarrass me in public.
Skin type
Slightly sensitive. Ideally, I should shave every other day, but enthusiasm has me finding excuses for shaving daily—or even more often ("This patch under my chin—it's just not smooth enough!")
One of my New Year's Resolutions is to shave less often. Having a constant case of razor burn is does not attract people to wetshaving or shaving with a straight.

Started this post last year...well actually it was December 30.
Getting some interesting responses. Great to know what people are using, this post has already cost me money, I've bought a few of the top 3 choices that keep reappearing in many posts just to see why so many people use them.
Keep 'em coming!
Thanks, Baba
