Any bay rum can have glycerin added to it - all you have to do is buy some from your local pharmacy/WalMart for about $3.00 and go at it.:thumbup1: Just be careful about not adding too much, which will result in a tacky skin feel after the drydown.

That said, I know that Master bay rum has glycerin already in it.

The scent of bay rum varies widely form one manufacturer to another, so if you fine a scent that you like just add some glycerin to it if it's not already in there.

Good suggestion. I think I will buy some glycerin. I just priced it at my pharmacy and it's $7.00 for a small bottle. I want to add it to a 4 oz. bottle of Bay rum. About how much glycerin do you suggest I add?

First, if you've got a WalMart around, it's MUCH cheaper there. I got a 6 oz bottle of it (manufactured by HUMCO) for less than $4.00.:thumbup1:

As far as dosage goes, I'd start with about 20 or so drops, and give that a try. Don't forget to shake it up thoroughly before you try it. With that amount, you won't get 'the stickies", and if you'd like to add more, it's a lot easier than trying to take any out!:001_cool:

For a four oz bottle, I'd add about a half a teaspoon, no more. Measure it, don't just eyeball it.

I have both the Master BR and the Pinaud BR. I added glycerin to the Pinaud, but still like the Master BR better. I just think it smells better on me.

I believe both are far superior to glycerin in aftershaves, tha't why we use both. Glycerin in soap is a different animal. From a business standpoint, using glycerin would be best for the botom line, a gallon of cosmetic grade glycerin is pretty economical.

The former for instance (Hydroxyethyl Urea), could be used straight-up by a woman with dry skin on her legs previous to a shower and shaving her legs. After she would not need moisturizers on knees or legs.
