Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Get this.... I am very new to wet shaving. In fact, when my wife asked me what I wanted for Christmas, I said "a Merker HD!"

okay, I'm new at this, you get the point.

So I asked others to pick up some of the other things needed... I asked my mother to get me some Trumpers Violet, and sent her the website and such, blah blah blah...

Last Sunday, my mom calls to tell me that the order that she put through for Trumpers didn't go through. I thought to myself, "Oh Crap!!! now I won't have shave cream in time for Christmas for my first shave!" so I take myself over to a local high end mens clothing store and buy T.H. 1805 to make up for the violet my Mom was getting me.

Now, I still wanted the Trumpers Violet, so I go ahead and ordered my own tub to have it delivered.

My mom shows up today for our Christmas eve time and low and behold I she has a tub of TRUMPERS VIOLET... I'm thinking to myself, "What the heck! now I will have two Violet tubs (when the other arrives next week) and some 1805. No big deal... 3 tubs is overkill but it could be worse, I could be shaving with Colgate!"

Then.... DING DONG!!!! the doorbell rings, and there is a package... I start laughing when I go to the door. It is from the supplier and my personal order of violet is here... I bring the box inside and rip it open and get this...

2 tubs of D.R. Harris Almond!!!

Someone at the supplier got my order mixed up with someone elses!

Yes... I went from ZERO shaving cream 2 days ago... to

2 tubs of DRH Almond
1 tub of Trumpers Violet
1 tub of TH 1805

And a partridge in a pair tree!!!!

and now for my question....

How long does shaving cream last? I would definitely use them in rotation, but would they all last long enough?

Thanks!

and Merry Christmas!!!

Oh my, you need to PIF me one of those tubs right away  to keep it from spoiling.
Seriously, keep the lids on tight and depending on frequency of use, they should
stay good for the foreseeable future. Cheers and Merry Christmas back at ya.

Don't forget to order a sampler pack of blades to go with your HD ... its a rite of passage around here. You can get samplers from many of the vendors here.

You're off to a good start with all those creams. I (and a lot of people) start with Bigelow's Proraso, simply because its so easy to find. And almost 2 years in, I still haven't tried anything by either D.R. Harris or Trumpers, so you're way ahead of the game.

That's a good one. But to get to your question, I would say that a tub would last me 6 months, so it looks like you are set for some time. This is both good and bad. You have a lot of cream on hand, so you won't have much justification to get all the new ones you want.

Oh heck. Get them anyway.

Merry Christmas.
