Another C&E Sienna day...
My wife and youngest son were both sick today, so I stayed home from work (vacationing as a nurse. Gotta love it!).
After a LONG hot shower with my Beaudelaire Rose soap and my Cedar Exfoliating brush (complete with Nancy Boy hair products) I shaved with:
Vulfix 41
C&E Sienna Cream (just could NOT get the right lather today!! )
Futur and Slant bar (both with Feather blades)
Pacific Shave Oil
QED DaV H2O
Hydrolast Lime & Green Tea Cutting Balm
Hydrolast Peppermint A/S
Trumper Coral Skin Food
After 4 passes with the Futur, I "oiled up" with the Cutting Balm and did touch and cut (using the Slant) for any stubble that I could find. I did get a tiny bit of razor burn on one side of my Adam's apple... However, over 12 hours later and I'm still baby-butt smooth (even against the grain)!!:001_tt1:

Jeff
Jeff,
For the money it's a great soap. Surrey offers three different versions, I have the deluxe. The scent is very pleasant, and it lathers easier than Williams. However, it doesn't last long...disappears pretty quick, but then, at $1.50 a puck, I don't expect it to last forever.

Jeff:
The Shave Shop cream lather wise is very good. I can whip up a wonderful, rich lather with it. It does a nice job of lubricating as well and I get a good shave with it. I just don't care for the scent much. It sort of has a medicinal smell to it. The after shave gel is very functional as well. I accidentally got it on my lips this morning.....tastes terrible! When I run out, I won't repurchase.

AOS A/S Balm
The T&H Ultimate Shaving Cream has a beautiful lavender scent. Not too heavy, but very pleasant. The lather reminded me of Taylor's Avocado as far as consistency and lubrication. This will definitely go on my list of things to buy.
The AOS A/S Balm made it's second appearance. I used it last night after having also used the AOS Pre-Shave Oil. This stuff goes on heavy. Two hours later, it has settled in, and leaves my face feeling moist, with just a "touch" of "greasiness". I'm not sure I like it as well as I thought I would. I've got enough for one more use, but now my thinking is that this is something I would only use if my skin were really dry.

This may not be the appropriate forum for this, but I find the scent of the pre/post far stronger than I would prefer, and it does tend to linger a bit longer than some have said. Great moisturizing properties, though. If it were scent free (or just plain lighter) it would be a much more desirable product.
I'm normally not a big fan of glycerin-based soaps, but this Willi G. is growing on me. The #7 is a little weird scentwise, and the sandalwood doesn't compete with the big boys, but it sure does allow for one close shave. Overall, I prefer them to the Classic soaps.

It is a blend of lavender and rose hydrosols. Smells real nice and is very soothing. In one of the weird quirks of nature, it smells like neither rose nor lavender, IMO, but something else. Cinnamon, perhaps. Whatever it is, is is one of the nicest things to spray on your puss after a shave. It is inexpensive from Charles at QED (http://www.qedusa.com). I also use it night, after cleaning my face and before moisturizing.

Thanks, Scotto. I think I'm going to order it. This does sound nice.

Rik, I really enjoy the L'Occitane Cade soap also. I heard a few negative remarks about it. Do you find the soap to be drying or irritating? I sure don't.

Jeff:
Are you sure it's the L'Occitane soap you've heard less than stellar things about? I've heard it about the cream but never the soap which, in my opinion, provides a wonderfully rich, lubricating lather.

Ah man, the cream, they can ram it! I wouldn't take it even for free! I heard a few less than ideal remarks about the CADE soap, but whoever doesn't like it, it's just too bad. I love it, and so do a heck of a lot of other guys, so that what counts. I wouldn't use that cream to shave my dog's a$$!

Greetings Jeff,
Not at all. It is one of my favorite soaps. It provides excellent lubricity for both DEs and Str8s. The juniper fragrance is pure luxury!

Art and Ron don't get me started on my boot collection.
Very nice gents. Ron, Richard and I may make you an honorary Texan.

Austin,
Got any Lucchese Ostrich boots? I love mine! My good friend, James Cavender, has a few boot stores down in TX.

Randy, I usually buy my boots from Cavenders. I only buy leather boots. My favorite boot maker is Chris Romero. Made in Mexico and very hard to find in Texas.

Cavender's Boot City...that would be the one! James is a top notch guy...used to buy ALL of my boots from him. Unfortunately, he doesn't have any stores in Utah. My favorites were Larry Mahan...the tops were so soft you didn't know you were wearing boots.
