I love the photo's ..All of them ...keep them coming please...
BUT!
1)Its really annoying (to me at least) when people repaste/repost a great picture just to comment on it. Comment by all means but not post the same pic again please:) Surely we don't want to fill the SOTD with continually repeated pictures...
2)As a newbie I want to know what your SOTD consisted of ...I don't always recognise stuff from the pics so as Lyrt says ...Please in text say what your using along with the pic ..anyhow back to business

1920's Gillette Bostonian ! (First use - £20 off Ebay)
Merkur Best Badger
Feather Blade (First use - thanks to John's sample kit)
Crabtree & Evelyn Nomad Shaving Cream (First use)

Trumper GFT EdT

I went a bit mad and tried lotsa new stuff. Amazing shave and with 4 passes got as near to BBS as I wish to get. Fun fun fun !!

SOTD rating 9.5/10 ...stunningly AWESOME shave...

David (Pic taken with wife's xmas present thru a mirror on 10sec timer (then unmirrored/reversed using Paintshop Pro)) ...a bit more fun...

PS For Nick (just teasing!) ..wife's camera : Sony Cyber-shot DSC-N2 Digital Camera (tiny and 3 inch LCD screen on the back)

Proraso ASB

Don't know if it was the blade but the first pass WTG on my neck hurt immediately and I have since gotten a pretty bad patch of red spots on my neck...oh well). Switched out the blade and didn't shave that area again. The lavender smell is soooo great. SWMBO came into the bathroom as I was lathering u[p and was VERY pleased. Charles is awesome.

And for the record, I really enjoy all of the pics of folks's SOTD.

I need to order some stuff from her anyway. MamaBear, if you're reading... have any more of that Patchouli/Menthol cream left?

It's weird... once I use anything Menthol in my daily shave, I almost feel like I have to finish up with as much Menthol as I can... I have issues... HELP ME!!

C&E Best Badger
eShave White Tea SC
Merkur Classic
Merkur Blade (3rd shave)
styptic pencil (which stings like a b*&^h!)
eShave White Tea ASB
No EdT... and I'm not sure why

The white tea is emerging as my favorite between the two scents that came in the freebie sampler from eShave. Today, the Merkur chewed up my face pretty bad... 10-12 nicks, so I retired the blade. I've been using the same technique each shave (3 passes, WTG, XTG, ATG) and was previously averaging 2 nicks total, so I'm pretty sure it was the blade.

I have to say I enjoy most of the pictures that are posted on B & B. I do however agree that it would be nice to also see a list of the products that are used. It is sometimes hard to tell. I wish I had the time to post pictures everyday but I barely have time to post on here lately. As for constructive criticism I don't feel IMO that it is necessary for multiple posts about how awesome someone's picture is. We all know that there are a lot of great pictures taken on here, and a lot of people with talent. I just feel that by posting about someone's great picture and not about someone elses we may be hurting some feelings. Someone's run of the mill picture may take as long for them to set up as it takes Lyrt (or one of the other great photographers) or longer. I think the goal is to get as many people to post pictures as possible.

I myself like the pictures much better than the "boring lists" (which is all I have ever posted). Keep up the good work guys.

I started with the Dr. Galen non-foaming sesame oil shave cream as a pre-shave, then applied a hot towel. Then, Mama Bear's Smokin' soap, with a new Derby blade in my Merkur Classic. Finished with Aqua Velva AS and a top coat of Proraso liquid cream ASB.

Tried a couple new things today. That Parker 90R razor will take some getting used to. It's nice and long, although quite a bit lighter in weight than my Superspeeds or Merkur HD. The fresh Derby blade bit, skipped and tugged throughout the whole first pass, so I decided to test the Parker and Derby blade separately, and removed the Derby from the Parker razor and put it in the Merkur HD. Same blade, different razor. Subsequent passes were normal... nice and smooth. I think I need to work on my angle or something for the Parker razor.

The Speick A/S splash was very nice... not much burning at all. LOVE the Anherb milk (and gel). Chock full of Mentholy goodness!! :thumbup1:

T&H Luxury Shave Soap
40's N.D.C. SS w/new Feather
C&E Best
Proraso ASB

Rare Sunday shave today on account of an engagement later tonight. (Sloan w/Thunderbirds are Now! at the Grogshop, about a block from my apartment)

I don't often have non shave-related toys worthy to show off on here, but the Wii is about the most fun thing ever. There goes my PhD.

I don't like the Men-u either. Not thick enough, not enough lube. Works alright with a modern cartridge razor where the lube strip helps get a smooth shave, but it is useless for our kind of shave.

Today's shave went exactly as planned and the Feather blade was a dream. I'm just starting to get a stubble now, 16 hours later. The barber from The Gentleman's Refinery didn't know what he was talking about when he said that a DE shave only shaves about two hours more stubble than a Mach3.

I tossed my C&E Nomad cream because if dried out on me! I tried adding water, etc but just wasn't happy with the product.

Omega 6215
6/8" Geneva straight
Merkur long handle w/IP
Taylor rose cream (old version, of course)
DRH Pink
Musgo Real splash'
GFT coral skin food

Had a few days' growth (had to return home all scruffy looking to keep the missus at bay). My straight was well prepped, but it was pulling like the dickens. After two less than pleasant passes, I reached for the long handle to finish up. Immediately, I said "Crap, this hasn't even got a blade in it." I unwrapped a new IP, then opened the razor to insert it. To my amazement, it already had an IP in there. I was dumbstruck- compared to the straight, the DE felt so smooth I honestly thought there wasn't a blade inside. What a putz! :scared:
