I had every intention of buying the Futur in the next week or so. But after using mt Gillette Fat Boy
(1958) for the third and developing my blade angle the question is why. The Fat Boy gave me an absolute BBS shave all the way. I cannot imagine that the Futur would enhance on this experience any more than my shave today. Am I crazy:taz:

Jeff,

If it ain't broke... don't fix it!

I think that every razor, every blade... and, combination thereof... has it's own learning curve. The goal is a BBS shave... which you are getting.

I would say that you are on day #1 of holding off AD. Keep us posted!

Why change unless you are just curious like the rest of us.

Hiya Jeff,

I would think that with the Gillette having what seems to me a lower profile with reference to the razor head, it might make it easier to navigate in those tricky areas. Am I crazy?

Jeff:

If you're getting great BBS shaves with the Fatboy, I'd stay with it....unless like Andrew said, you're just curious. The Futur is a much different razor than the Fatboy and was the hardest for me to master. I finally ended up selling it but the curiousity is now gone. The good news is if you decide to give it a try and don't like it, you can always sell it here on the forum for not much of a loss. While I have probably 15 to 20 razors, I typically use 3 of them in my rotations and others very sporadically. Like you, I have one that gives me great shaves with ease and I tend to reach for it most often. RAD is one of the side effects of hanging out on this forum so if you become infected, enjoy the variety.

That would be the only reason to try the Futur. I have both along with a bunch of others. I just like switching razor blade combinations around.
