Much like a young man's first kiss, I feel like I've passed a milestone today. I drew first blood with a DE razor this morning.

Congrats...I think.
Same thing happened to me a few weeks ago. Did you also get your first feel of the styptic pencil?
Ah, there's nothing like the first time . . .:wink2:

I drew blood today. Shaving before completely waking up = cut on face

I have had weepers on the neck, but not any solid cut until my last shave... I was not paying attention at all...
I managed to slice myself right where the nostril connects to the face... it bled like crazy... I got 99% done when I wasn't paying attention and caught my upper lip with the blade at an oblique angle and sliced a little patch of skin off... that thing bled for almost an hour.

Sure did! Burned like a hot poker, but it closed the bugger up near instantly. Very glad I had the thing too, as I'm forgetful enough to be the guy with the TP stuck all over his face.

Ow man, that smarts just reading it!
Personally, I'm blaming the blade. It's likely not the culprit at all, but a twelve cent scapegoat is fine by me.
So should I shave tomorrow or let the thing heal? Plan right now is to shave, but go with my Lady Gillette. This will have the dual advantages of being far less aggressive than my other razors while also reminding me what a girlie-man I am for running into problems with a Slim set on four.

There I was shaving after a nice shower and ...POW! I almost cut my mole off my left cheek. I haven't done that for a few years when I was shaving with a cart. It bled for about a half hour and now I look like I was stabbed. I hate mornings like this. It hurts more now than it did when I first carved my face open.

It happens to all of us at some point. Get the cut, let it heal, learn for the mistake.

Its like riding a trail bike; you haven't ridden it until you've come off...
