Note that I use my D70 as a remote control of my SB800, which means it simultaneously fires a flash that I imperfectly hide with my hand. Thus there are residual reflections where there should not be.

I used my new bowl setup today... It's a pseudo-scuttle. I went to Target today, bought a small stainless steel pet food bowl and a large ceramic cereal bowl. The pet bowl fits down into the cereal bowl. Worked pretty well after I let the lathered cream sit in the scuttle apparatus for a while... Not too warm at first but much improved on the second and third latherings.

I'm not so keen on the T&H Sandalwood. Doesn't seem to have the same feel as their Trafalgar, which I love. This might end up in my little travel kit sadly.

No apologies for using the Mach3 under the nose, I have a prominent scar which I only slice into with a DE and I don't want half a hitlertache. When the Mach3 supply runs out I'll have to find another solution. Any suggestions by PM please!

Lovely 4 pass shave this morning, with zero irritation. The Progress / Sharp combo is taking some beating of late, irrespective of the shave soap / cream I'm using. Might try upping the setting though to cut a tiny bit closer, as sitting here 3.5 hours later, I can feel tiny bits of stubble creeping back on my neck.

Tabac was great this morning also. I remember being really disappointed the first couple of times I used it, but now I know my technique just sucked :rolleyes: It's a great soap, I've not even bothered with a post shave balm

After a good day with the Feather on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday went downhill. Tried changing it up with some extra thick Nomad cream to see if I just needed some more lubrication. Even with very light texchnique and only two passes (WTG and ATG), the Feather bit back and I got a couple weepers on my chin.

My first DE razor was a Merkur Futur and my experience was so bad, I gave up on the DE shave. I couldn't even hold the razor properly because the polished model would keep slipping out of my hands. After coming back to wetshaving with a Merkur HD, then Merkur Slant, the Futur (polished) is a breeze.

I bought the Floris Elite about 2 months ago on a whim to make an internet purchase upto an amount for free delivery. Before that I'd only ever used goo. I remember standing her in the bathroom thinking how beautiful she looked compared to my can of goo with her yellow/golden tube and shiney lettering. Then I gently squeezed her in my hand and thought how good she smelt. I massaged her into my hot wet face and after a minute was lost in her creamy swirls. Then I shaved (with a Mach 3 then) and I knew in that moment ...it was LOVE! She brought me to you guys and DE shaving.

SOTD rating 9.25/10 ...pure pleasure...the memories...

Today was a masterpiece of shaving for me! After four passes with the above amazing lather I achieved complete BBS on my face and neck sans irritation or heat!!!! I was going to go for the SCS Savory Rose this morning but decided I was in a lavender mood instead. As I could not decide which lavender to use I combined them together and the results were fantastic! My puss feels moisturized to the nth degree (thank you KMF!) and I can still detect distinct hints of the QED soap and SCS creme.

Pure bliss and facerbation!!!! :laugh: :lol:

Today I decided to have a 'green' day. First time with T&H Limes and after 120 swirls had enough creamy foam to shave half the men in the street. Excellent 3 pass shave and the English Fern gets better with use.

Derby blades, for me, last about 3-4 shaves... even less if I skip a day in between. Maybe I need to invest in one of those Ultrasonic Jewelry Cleaners to prolong blade life in between shaves?

The Anherb A/S milk is niiiiiiiiiiiiiiice... and quite a menthol kick sets in after about 15 seconds or so. It was all like "GOOD MORNING WAKE UP LOL" and I was all like :cool:.

Not the closest shave I've ever had, but that had nothing to do with my tools and prep... I think I just tried to eek out another day of blade life this morning. Sheesh, you'd think I'd have learned by now.

Next stop: Feather blade!!! :eek:

My face is still a bit dry from the beating it took from the one-two punch of the feather and cold weather. I tried a sample of the Cade ASB that I had in my cabinet, and man, that stuff is really good for dry skin! Three passes.
The cream came out of a new pot -- far more solid than the tube, it's more of a paste than a cream.
The newly adjusted Vision is a different razor, far more precise and predictable a shaver. I'll have to fiddle with the dial and open up a little next time.

I took tinzien's advice and let the warm water run on top of the soap for 30 s or so and the aroma released was spectacular. The stuff smelled great and shaved even better. I did 4 passes today and have what is perhaps the closest shave of my life (without a razorburned, spotted, splotchy face). God bless this DE shaving!

Derby blades, for me, last about 3-4 shaves... even less if I skip a day in between. Maybe I need to invest in one of those Ultrasonic Jewelry Cleaners to prolong blade life in between shaves?

The Anherb A/S milk is niiiiiiiiiiiiiiice... and quite a menthol kick sets in after about 15 seconds or so. It was all like "GOOD MORNING WAKE UP LOL" and I was all like :cool:.

Not the closest shave I've ever had, but that had nothing to do with my tools and prep... I think I just tried to eek out another day of blade life this morning. Sheesh, you'd think I'd have learned by now.

Next stop: Feather blade!!! :eek:

What I try sometimes before use is shake the flacon very hard for 5 seconds or so so that the milk becomes even thinner then you need even less of the product but I imagined also you need less product to cover your face might be imagination but be not it seems the milk gets dilluted a bit by shaking them up quite hard. offcourse have you finger over the lid ! I wouldnt want you to paint ya bathroom with the milk.

Had about 3 days' growth to clear today (shameful, I know) so it was a good excuse to bring out the feather for some face-mowing

2 passes did the job, and it's definitely getting easier with the feather, although I did leave a bit of stubble on my neck where it undulates a bit. More practice required, methinks :smile:

Reckon the feather professional blade currently is my limit of aggresiveness and I can make very confident strokes now, the super professional blades are a little too harsh and catch too easily on my face right now.

Decided to face my Feather fears head on. I've tried one Feather blade in the past, and gave myself some serious irritation. This time, I committed to taking things SLOWLY and deliberately. A WORLD of difference.

Man... both the Anherb milk and the gel are cooler than the other side of the pillow. :drool: I like the gel better so far, even though I've only used each once. I think the gel spreads easier than the milk, but I probably used too much milk the first time. I'm going to give each at least a week's worth of use before ultimately deciding.
