'76 Gillette Superspeed (1st time I've used this razor. Fun, but did not get the best shave from this razor.)
Merkur blade (1st day)

eshave white tea s/c ( from samples received today. I like it alot)

At the sink:

touch up with disposable Sensor

Thayers Lavender w/h
eshave white after shave cream (also from sampler pack)
Clubman Special Reserve a/s cologne (did not use on my face, but on back of neck and chest. I cut it with a little water because it is very strong)

3 pass shave with great results, no nicks or missed stubble. Still in love with the slantbar and while the IP blade shaved better today than yesterday, it still takes second place to the Feather blades.

The Shavemac is about 2 weeks old and just getting broken in well. I'm sure it's not as luxurious as the Silvertips some of you guys are using but it's a huge step up from the cheap boar brush I was using before and I love it.

The TGQ Bay Rum is nicely scented but rather fleeting (seems that's typical of most all bay rums). Wonderfully rich lather as is typical with TGQ. The KISTNA is still quite nice and fresh smelling (ferns and forest-like) but I'm anxious to try some other ASBs: TOBS, L'Occitane, etc.

Congratulations on conquering the feather. What would you summarise is the key to success?

Taking your time, going slowly and concentrating on the basics:

1. No pressure. None.
2. Proper angle throughout the entire stroke.

I think the above should be done with any blades, but particularly with the Feathers.

The first couple were absolutely horrid, but they have been improving...and while great now and getting perfect shaves, there is still room for improvement (to the preshave oil). I am making these without olive oil, without fragrance, and using only quality oils. I'll be sure to keep you posted. :biggrin:

The worst shave in a long time :crying:
Especially the AS wasn't that good. I used a sampler I got with one of my last purchases but it burnt like hell (alcoholic AS normally just sting a bit for 2 secs. on me...). No razorburn or pimples of ingrown hairs but my skin doesn't feel right even now two hours after the shave :scared:

This is my second shave using a mug to lather instead of lathering directly on my face and I'm finding it a bit disappointing compared to the face-lather. Maybe technique, maybe it's the eShave SC. Maybe come payday I'll get a tub of something more "upscale" to try.

I'm VERY pleased with the Merkur. I got BBS on my cheeks; under the jawline... not so much, but seeing as I only had one nick that needed the styptic (that stuff STINGS!), I'll definitely chalk it up to technique or lack thereof. Getting a blade sampler pack from letterK is also high on the list of "refinements-to-come."

My shaving routine starts to get very irregular this week as doing nights soon...

Anyway, had a lie in before work this morning so no shave until I got home and had my dinner.

Shower -- Lush Coolalin (coconut) conditioner
Pre shave oil -- Neal's Yard Avocado oil
Shaving cream -- Taylors Rose
Post shave -- alum followed by Harris Aftershave milk and Arlington aftershave
Brush and razor -- BK4 and Vision (as always, none other to use yet...)
Blade -- Feather (day 2)
Technique -- three passes, NS, ear to nose, nose to ear

This must have been my best shave ever. I'm not joking. Really comfortable shave, no sting with the alum, really close cut but I'm not afraid that I'm going to have ingrowing hairs tomorrow.

This is VVBBS. (Very very bbs)
