I was really looking forward to trying this after having read so many positive comments about it - and Havana doesn't disappoint! It's easily one of the most complex mainstream frags I've tried; starts off with a strong citrus and cigar scent that morphs into a smoky cigar then into a warm spicy basenote.

I really enjoy it and my wife has given it a strong approval both times I've had it on, with the caveat not to apply it too lavishly.

Could be a false positive. Remember Ogallala Bay Rum.

Oh, I remember. I just didn't want to say it for fear of jinxing Havana for him.

Sure. I'm not a basenotes kind of guy, but I'll try.

I'd agree that it's complex. Initially, to me, it has a herbal, spicy note dominating, one that I associate with Aramis. Seems a little harsh, a little too dominant. It dries down to a more woodsy, tobacco middle, then over the next hour or so becomes more and more tobacco. I find it more pleasant the longer it goes. Unfortunately, on me, it pretty much disappears during the process.

Maybe I'd be more enthusiastic if I hadn't ordered the JHL as well. Love that one, and it overshadows the Havana in my mind. And, on me, lots of staying power. Maybe I built Havana up too much, based on what others have written.

Everyone's nose is different. I don't dislike Havana, and I'll wear it, but I don't see myself going for it again. Whereas, JHL will become a staple for me.

Meh? Can you go into more detail?

Meh.

I am seriously thinking of getting a bottle but would like to know what you mean?

Also what were you used to using prior?

Thank you
