I hate having much stuff in my pants pockets, especially the rear pockets (no pressure on the sciatic nerve for me, thanks) so I've been wearing a fanny pack, slung on my left hip, for years. But there's too much stuff in it now so I want to get a good quality leather shoulder bag. Not a messenger bag, something smaller. It's just meant to hold my wallet, checkbook, cell phone, hand sanitizer, PDA and a small (like 5" x 7") note pad and a couple of pens.
I prefer leather and I don't want to spend a fortune. Those are all the parameters I can think of. Please let me know if you've got any ideas. Cheers!

I agree. I have a nice Camo bag.
I dont use it often, but works very nicely.

ebags.com is a pretty good site for comparing a ton of brands. Lots of "murses" over there :001_tongu I've been looking for something similar to what you described, but the only Fossil they had looked a little....feminine. I'll probably opt for a messenger type bag.

I use a large North Face Sport Hiker fanny pack that I sling over my shoulder like a messenger bag.http://merlin.pl/The-North-Face-Saszetka-Sport-Hiker-chute-green-9l,images_zdjecia,11,700051220821_1.jpg
