My Landlord gave these to me, and they looked awful, lol. Rust is really really bad, pitting is no better. But, after being in the tumbler with some aggressive rust cutting media for a few days, they are looking much better. The Mappin needs the most work...

Here are some pre-clean pics:

Yah, definitely.

I stuck em in the tumbler and they turned out nicely. All the rust and most of the staining is gone.. now I just gotta make sure they'll hold an edge

#1 & #3 are most likely DOA.

Hopefully not, but with rust that bad...

Anyway, GL!!!

Agreed, its kind've a shot in the dark with those two. I plan on trying to set a bevel on 'em sometime this week.

I may post some pics of the tumbler cleanup tonight, we'll see if I get around to it. Lots to do!

I don't think so, it's sheffield steel, a lot of it. Quite likely there's plenty left for an edge.

Well, I see a hole about 1/8" up and near the toe. Could be an artifact or a dust speck, but i see it also in the third pic. Maybe I'm just seeing things. It also appears to be a faux frameback to me, so I'm thinking theres not as much steel there as a normal wedge would have.

There is definitely enough steel to remove all the pitting. it is not as thin as a full hollow.

And yes, that is a hole, lol. I think that possibly for whatever reason somebody may have drilled a hole through it, then rust took care of the rest, lol.

Well if your ok with the hole, I'm ok with the hole.

My fingers are crossed for you! Certainly within the realm of possibility.

no, that's definitely a hole, i saw that, but i also know how much steel there is on that blade :)
it's actually a very unique grind, i wouldn't call it 'faux frameback'. W&B has something similar too, but not that nice.

Glad to be wrong on this one. I hate dead razors.

Maybe Sapito will stop being lazy and get us more pictures?
