When I bought this from an ebay seller it had been listed for only 15 minutes. I got lucky and did a newly listed search at the right time. The price was $19.99 bin.

It's the Toggle. Not many made.

It's a Toggle, the tip is flipped part way to partially open the doors, and all the way to open them for blade change.

Great score! You got lucky though :wink: If I had been awake thirty minutes earlier it would have been mine (like the TV Rocket I've got coming in the mail. It's my second one)

Actually I got up late today. My back was bothering me so I was doing some exercises in bed. If I got up at my normal time and did my search I would have been too early and missed it. I wish my back wasn't hurting though.:frown:

Hope somebody else here won the other. I matched the high bid, and thought about hanging around to put one slightly higher at the end, but figured it was pointless. Guess it wouldn't have been.

I think this one is uncommon, like a prototype or something. The date code is two years earlier then what I normally see.

Mine has that 1958 date code as well; I think Gillette marketed some Toggles in certain areas of the country that year.

Dawg! Nice score, I love stories like that. And for the doubters, one can get lucky on eBay more than just once in a while. But my dream is to run into a Double Ring with a BIN price of under $50 :biggrin:. Everyone's gotta have a dream :001_tongu.

BTW, is it changes in my searches, or have there been a fair number of Toggles lately? I haven't gotten any, those I've seen were not in the greatest shape (except one really nice one that was going to go sky high).

I only learned of the toggle's existance a few days ago. It's a lovely design and a great great great find for <$20 well done indeed. Will you post pics when you have cleaned her up please? :smile:
