Hey guys, I was working on the shave stand made from a hanger and was almost finished when my buddy came over and asked, "So where does the bowl go?" Good question. So I decided to include the bowl with my design. I also added some electrical tape to match color and to look a little more finished. It also takes away the possibility that my razor will "scratch" next to the hanger. I like the design and think it looks good. What do you think?

I like it. If something goes wrong with it (what could?) you trash it and make another, costing nothing.

Perhaps some heat shrink tubing over the wire hanger to really spiff it up?

They actually make "Coated" hangers, I've got a blue one, I've just been to lazy to bend it.

I wonder how expensive that heat shrink wrap is, but a good idea. You may or may not have good luck with hangers that are already wrapped as in order to get the proper bends in the wire you need to use pliers which would eat up the coating...

No, not really, doing the coaster stand, you can bend it with your hands, its just a loop of wire glued into a cork base, with a coaster stand.

Flyfisherman's brush stand seen here. (http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php?t=110613)

Make another one and you have your razor stand.

I did one of these too. Except I put a motor on the part that holds the brush. That way it builds lather for me, right there in the bowl. Then, it reaches up to my face and puts the lather right on my face. Yeah...it rocks. You guys wish you had one. But you don't.

Finished, and now I present the "Coated" wire brush stand.

I decided its just retarded to make a razor stand too, so here we go.

I have seen ruberized coating at hardware stores to dip your tools into (ones that didn't have rubber grips)
You could dip your wire stand in that, no scratchies.

Man, I was JUST going to suggest this. It's for adding grips to pliers' handles and such.

B&B fundraiser project,

1 bend hanger
2 dip hanger

Hey, thats a great idea about the coating, and now that I have had my stand for a week or so the electrical tape is coming a little loose. I like the coaster with cork idea too. I realize that a heavy base really precludes from needing to balance the stand to a tee, and even if you do it may fall over when you take your brush or razor off to use it. I will let you know if I make another one...

Love it! I made an ugly stand myself, but yours looks better... I may have to try again!

I like. The only problem with me making one is space (it feels like I have a closet for a bathroom.)

This works for me, I like it. I have pondered making something myself but ai am not sure what yet. :)

Here's what I've done with a thick metal hanger and needle-nose pliers. It attaches to the toothbruth holder in my bathroom. It holds my brush perfectly and is "customizable" to accommodate a thicker handle. I made it a couple months ago and also a razor stand... although I since found a better way to display my razors so I threw that away.
