I'm debating about my next TOBS purchase. Of the TOBS that I've tried -- St. James, Lemon Lime, Lavendender and Avocado -- I like the Lavender the best. I've been thinking about trying the Rose, but I'm not thrilled about rose scents in general, including the highly touted Czeck & Speake Dark Rose. For whatever reason, these scents remind me of old ladies. If I were an old lady, I'd be strongly inclined to get a tub of TOBS Rose. On the other hand, I would be surprised to learn that many readers of these forums are interested in smelling like old ladies, and the TOBS Rose consistently gets great reviews here. Should I give it a shot, or am I just going to end up smelling like a disappointed old lady?

I love smelling like an old lady! This scent doesn't make me think old lady personally but my wife does and some others I know feel the same. To me its like a rose garden, peaceful and crisp. The scent doesn't last that long though so you wouldn't have to worry about it lingering.

The rose is divine! The smell doesn't linger so don't worry. It lathers well and is an excellent product, especially for sensitive skin
The TOBS rose is a great cream. It smells like. . . wait for it. . . ROSE. If you like the smell of rose, you'll love it. If you don't like the smell of roses, there are better choices out there for you.

if you think rose is for old ladies then dont get it.
given youre not so hot on rose scents at all, why not spend your money elsewhere?

I don't believe I said rose was "for" old ladies. Despite my misgivings about the scent, I would consider trying it given the great comments other users have made about the product. My impression is that the Taylor creams all have different characteristics and that scent is just one part of the equation.
Thanks everyone for your comments.

I agree. I have TOBS rose and love it! Also have Trumper violet and love it! Both are very floral. If you don't think you would like florals, get TOBS sandalwood instead; great cream, strong spicy scent.

+1 on the sandalwood. If you are somewhat picky on rose scents, I am, try the sandalwood from TOBS I find it has a very nice floral component without an 'old lady' association, go to shoebox when you buy and pick up a sample of the rose as well to try. You wont be disappointed in the SW if you like unique scents with a floral aspect.

That sounds great. I do like the Lavender a lot and that's fresh and a little spicy. I'll give the Sandalwood a try.
