I'm sure you all have been keeping tabs on the straights being sold on eBay lately. For example, this one (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=020&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=300061714492&rd=1&rd=1). Does it seems as if the prices are creeping up as of late? Or are the razors that are being auctioned in better condition?

Well - that one in particular is a mighty rare razor. Straight razor prices kinda go up and down... all it takes are 10-20 guys with a lot of money and a big time thurst for razors to make the prices shoot up BIG time.

I wouldn't say the prices have gone up per se.... I would say the razors commanding the big $ have changed. A DD Wonderedge used to go for at least $300.... even in just "ok" condition, and now they are going for half that (hell I bought a mint in box DD WE a few weeks ago, on a SEVEN day auction for like $115 shipped) About 3 years ago... I sold a fancy bone handled henckels (in just ok condition) for over $300, as well as an 8/8 Filly for over $400, so it really just depends on the time of the year, and what/when people are buying. Right now the big rage are the "for barbers use" W&B's which are pulling $100+ in mediocre condition, a year or so ago you could pick one of those up for $15 or so shipped.

To my eye, the price of razors on ebay seems to have overall, gone down, where as the price of new razors has gone up (weird huh?) - but if you patient, and you take your time, you'll find the razor you want for a reasonable price.

I'm just happy the REALLY good ones still are relatively unknown, and I can continue to hog 'em all

Thanks for the perspective. I've only been bidding for straights over the past month, so that's where I'm coming from. But in that short time, I have noticed more activity with regard to the number of bids for razors.
