The wife and I are heading to Vegas in a few weeks. Does anyone have any opinions on which restaurant has the best steak? The only place we've tried so far is in Vegas has been Binion's Steakhouse and it was quite good. I'm looking for someplace else to try this trip.

Craft Steak in the MGM Grand is really good.

One of the best steak dinners I've ever had was the Ruth's Chris in Vegas. If you've never been, treat yourself. Bring $.

Delmonico Steakhouse at the Venetian was quite good; happened to be staying at the hotel for work. Almost can't go wrong with Ruth's Chris, as mentioned, either.

Binion's was the best I found.

I hear consistantly good reports from--of all places--THE Steakhouse at Circus Circus. Its totally unlike the rest of the dump; it has some serious, "old school" cred. Delmonico at the Venetian, as mentioned, is excellent, as is Wolfgang Puck's Cut next door at the Palazzo (lots of Kobe items). If you're looking for decent and cheap, the restaurant at Ellis Island (Super 8) has an off-menu steak dinner for $7 that includes all the fixin's (including home-brewed root beer!).

I know where the best steak isn't at: Mesa Grill in Caesar's Palace. It wasn't bad but it wasn't mind-blowing either.

Charlie Palmer at Mandalay Bay is pretty goood.
Joe's Seafood, Prime Steak, & Stone Crab is also amazing. They have one in Chicago that my wife and I go to 2-3 times month.

Sorry if this arrived too late.

+1 for Binion's. The steak was amazing and combined with the old school atmosphere one of the best meals I have ever had.

I take clients out often and Lawry's is the place to go for steak and seafood. Great atmosphere and a few buildings down you can get a coffee from a drive thru from women wearing lingerie. :w00t:

Prime at the Bellagio. Best steak I have ever had from a guy who's had a lot of steak in a lot of great steak places.

I realize I'm super late to this party, but I stumbled across this thread just now.

A couple of years ago I went to Delmonico's and ordered the Cowboy Ribeye. It cost infinitely more than a steak should. It was big, it was expensive, and at the time I thought it was good, but was quite uneasy about the price.

Fast forward to now, where I get a craving for that steak every couple of months. I can't reproduce it. I have tried making my own. I have tried some good steakhouses. It...just...isn't...THE SAME!

It haunts my dreams.

Don't know about steaks, but dosen't Thomas Keller have a Bouchon there? I'd be heading straight for that the 1st night and 2nd, maybe 3rd and 4th :tongue_sm

Bouchon is at the Venetian. Its expensive (of course) but excellent. I once had a "Croque Madame" (toasted ham & cheese sandwich on brioche with a fried egg & mornay sauce, served with french fries) there and it was the best $17 sandwich I've ever head. Breakfast's are outstanding: my wife had the french toast (Bread pudding style with warm layers of brioche, custard & apples, served with maple syrup) which was too rich for my taste but she still raves about.

Why yes, as a matter of fact we will be eating there next week!

I lived in Vegas for two years, and i didn't hit many steak houses. But, if your in town, and looking for some great ribbs, go on over to Ellic island, on Koval, between Flamingo, and Harmon. It's about 12.99 for a full rack, with corn on the cob, garlic bread, and beans.

I lived in vegas, and this is one of the places i tookpoeple when they came to town.

BOA Steakhouse in the Caeser's shops was outstanding when I ate there. Had a mid-afternoon lunch with several martinis then walked a hundred yards and had a Truefitt and Hill haircut. Sadly, they say that T+H has shut down Vegas.

I forgot to update this thread when we got back, so here goes. Ate at Binion's one night and my steak was superb. Then we ate at Vic & Anthony's inside the Golden Nugget another night and I must say it was incredible. It even beat the steak I'd had previously at Binion's. If you're planning a vegas trip any time soon, I suggest giving Vic & Anthony's a try. I'll definitely be going back again next time!!

+1 on Bouchon. I had the oyster sampler followed by steak frite and finished with a cheese platter. Although it was pricey, the wine is what really kills the bill. If you don't drink (or don't drink at that dinner), you can have a great meal while getting out for well under $100 a person.

Steak - I've not had steak in Vegas, but Ruth Chris is a very good all around steakhouse as some have mentioned. I'm sure there is better in Vegas, but for the $, RC is a pretty damn solid move. On a side note, their sides are massive.
