Costičres de Nīmes. Not bad, not exceptional.

A good Costieres de Nimes is Ch. de Campuget. Their Cuvee Prestige is very nice, and their regular bottling is super cheap.

Thanks for the tip.

My search for an American wine has only met with failure so far. I went to a wine merchant last Saturday and all he had was a Chardonnay.

You're in France! What the heck do you need American wine for?

I need to make a good prank. A good laugh is worth an American wine (and not the opposite).

Edit: what will it be tonight?

Couple fingers of Dalhwinnie 15 year with a Peterson loaded with Frog Morton.

A forum member was kind enough to send me some samples of different 'baccy. Frog Morton was the first to sample. This is the 3rd bowl I have had with the Frog Morton, and I have to say I like it...I like it alot. It has a nice balance of Latakia and Virginia. Not too smoky...not too sweet. No tongue bite at all....just a nice cool smoke. I will definitely be ordering a tin of this. Looking forward to trying the other Froggy offerings as well.

Last night I made one of the simplest and best-tasting meals, which is also one of the most butchered restaurant dishes: the chicken caesar salad. I can't tell you how many abominable versions I have had out over the years. The homemade version, with freshly made garlic croutons, fresh Parmigiano Reggiano, etc. is just awesome. No picture - it disappeared too fast.

A favorite of mine also-especially with garden fresh greens, anchovy's in the dressing?

Five minute dinner (if you have the sauce handy)-

Cut king crab legs into 2 inch pieces
Saute in hot pan in butter and olive oil for 2 minutes
Deglaze with cognac
Add tomatillo sauce, cover and steam 3 minutes.

Simple as pie, looks amazing, and the taste? You'll have to ask the missus. I had to go to work, and "slim" polished off the lot faster than I cooked it. I didn't even get a taste.:crying:

Tonight, a pot of Superior Ti Kuan Yin from Special Teas.

I can't shake this flu, everytime I have a good day the next day I'm horrible again, so I'm laying off the hard stuff tonight, but this is very soothing for a sore throat.

Thanks again, Jay and Scotto for the tea tips. I'm very happy with my purchases.

Oh how I wish I could post photos on this new computer... BUT, I have a bottle of Appleton Special Reserve Jamaican Rum (it costs a lot more here than in Jam ) and one of those red laser pointer lights. I am having a Appleton straight up and driving the kittens insane with the laser..... I am not sure who is having more fun, me or the kittens.. it could get brutal....

I bought some cheese and crackers too and made a real nice salad, but I am too busy laughing..... :thumbup1:

Whew..... finally.... I've been wanting to get to this for days!

Interestingly enough.... both the gorgeous Handmade I.M.P. Extra Large Smooth Bent Dublin Meerschaum (block) with 925K Sterling Silver collar in a custom (hand made) fitted wood case, lined with velvet, and wrapped in Burgundy Leather - and the tin of delicious smelling Squadron Leader Tobacco (made by the fine firm of Samuel Gawith & Co - who've been making fine tobaccos since 1792) were gifted to me by "special friends" and members of this forum. I've been itchin' to get this sucker pipin' - after I take post these pics, and let the tobacco I pulled out dry a bit more.... i'll be makin' out with that I.M.P. for the next few hours

This evening I'm hanging out on the patio with my laptop. Here in the Carolinas its probably about 58F right now. The indulgence of the night (at least thus far ;) is a Padron 1926 cigar coupled with Eagle Rare bourbon. I highly recommend both! Hope everyone's having a great Saturday evening!

No pics, but tonight at work, we all brought in "goodies" to snack on. Someone brought RUM Cake. I mean RUM cake! I've never had rum cake with a coke chaser, but tonight, I told the boss I would not be taking any more customers. They would think I had been drinking. I don't know who made the cake, but they almost forgot to put in the cake! Tasted like 100 proof!
