Hello all, I have been DE shaving for approximately 4 months using a 1960 Gillette super speed safety razor with Personna blades from W-M. After deciding that the Gillette was a little to aggressive for my sensitive face I decided to seek the advice offered at the B&B. I'm looking for Least Aggressive Razor and Blades for everyday use. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Welcome to Badger and Blade! I would recommend a Gillette Tech. As far as blades, it is hard to define "least aggressive" because different blades work differently depending on the person (classic YMMV).
I would recommend getting a blade sampler pack from West Coast Shaving (http://westcoastshaving.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=2), Bullgoose (http://bullgooseshaving.net/blsapa.html), Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/s/qid=1252424081/ref=sr_nr_seeall_1?ie=UTF8&rs=&keywords=double%20edge%20razor%20blades%20sampler&rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3Adouble%20edge%20razor%20blades%20 sampler%2Ci%3Abeauty), or Dr. Idiot (http://stores.shop.ebay.com/Double-Edge-Shaving-Place_Blades-Sampler_W0QQ_fsubZ445722017QQ_sidZ205586577QQ_trks idZp4634Q2ec0Q2em322)to see which blades work best for you.

I second the Tech.
Blades are generally described as sharp or dull or smooth rather than "aggressive."

I have a '72 Gillette Black Handled Super Speed that works perfect for me, and I thought it to be fairly gentle in terms of aggressiveness, but then I tried a Gillette Blue Tip Super Speed. Now, that's a gentle razor! I have 2 of them now, and neither gets much use because they're just too gentle for me. I can sell you one for $15.00 shipped with several different sample blades if you're interested. PM me for pictures and more info.

If you fancy a modern hand made razor, take a look at the Goodfella open comb made in Zealand. Its a very mild open comb, so much it will take technique to "nick" yourself...

Any blade you buy at Walmart is probably going to hurt your face as well as your wallet.
You should run through a sample pack, you'll be amazed at how much more comfortable a lot of those blades are, and at 1/4 the price!

For me the "gentlest" razor is a fat tech with (everyone scream at once) Merkur blades (so shoot me :tongue_sm)

maybe a Gillette adjustable on 1 is the "least-aggressive" razor...

I have a fat handled gold tech if you're interested - $15.00 shipped within US. I will also include some blades - better Personna's - the red ones.
Let me know.

Well I can tell you from my experience it is not the SS, because I tried to shave with those same exact blades 2x and trust me those blades are not good in my opinion. I would recommend try some Derby Extras, as they are a great beginners blade and are still sharp enough to cut the hair but are still tame enough to get bbs shaves with out irritation. PM me your address and I can send you a pack of blades if you like...
Cheers,

+1 on the merkur blades; I think they ship the bad ones to the US and keep the good ones back in Europe...
Better get yourself a sampler pack of blades; too much a YMMV thing to follow anybodies advice I guess.
Mildest razor that I know off is the plastic (delrin actually) Wilkinson Sword Classic; but it is not very good IMO. It is so mild that you might be tempted to use far too much pressure causing a lot of razor burn.
It sounds like you need to improve your technique rather than looking for another razor; get your angles right and the pressure down!
Good luck!

Hoping I'm not hijacking this one, but is it possible to have a rough guide to sharpness of blades, given a single razor being the constant?
I realise personal preference and subjectivity plays a part, but is there a consensus on least-most sharp among the blades available, given Feathers are renowned as the sharpest? (although not necessary the most comfortable).
Reason I'm asking is I've tried Merkur, Derby's and Feather's, and whilst the feathers are the sharpest of the lot, I would prefer something between the Derby and the Feather.
I will get a sampler when my local (Aus) supplier has stock, but would appreciate any thoughts on this.

X'#'d the Tech. It was my first razor, and coupled with a sample pack from Westcoastshaving, I was definitely taken care of.
I'd say go with that..or a blue-tip SS, and you'll be set man.

I bought a Ming Shi razor a while ago and would rate it very low in terms of aggressiveness. If you combine that with a Dorco ST300 blade you'll have a very mild setup.

I agree. The Goodfella is very mild and "safe."

A Gillette SS flare tip + Red Personnas. This combo loaded up will provide the closest and easiest shave to accomplish. In fact, I can use this combo with my eyes closed.

I don't think it's the razor, it's the choice of blades.
While some love the walmart Personnas (myself included) I can say that no single issue can gather a larger difference in opinion than what is the best blade to use.
The Tech is certainly a gentle shaver, no doubt about it, but the Superspeed is a fine razor in it's own right, with the right blade.
You simply MUST get a sampler pack and find the blade that does you right, no one else can recommend the blade that will work for you.
Any blade you buy at Walmart is probably going to hurt your face as well as your wallet.

Exactly! Those Walmart Personna blades are the very worst I have ever tried.
Keep your SuperSpeed razor. It is one of the least aggressive razors out there.
What you need are new razor blades!
