As many of you know my schedule has been very erratic this summer as my father in law had been battling cancer and my wife and I have spent much of our time with his care.

Joe passed away this evening at 8:30pm surrounded by his wife, three grown children and their spouses. Joe was 86, a member of the Maryland Bar Association and a Eucharistic Minister at St. Pius Roman Catholic Church in Baltimore for many years. He and his wife Gloria have been married 59 years. He also has three grandchildren.

He will be missed by his family, friends and the congregation at St. Pius. I wanted to thank everyone here who has expressed their kind thoughts and prayers for him. Lorrie and I were very touched by the kindness and understanding you have sent our way. Thank you.

I will be closed this week as we make arrangements for Joe and help get his wife settled into life without him.

I offer my deepest sympathies and prayers for your Father in Law and family. The passing of elderly family is difficult for all, at best. Hang in there.

I just wanted to thank everyone for the kind thoughts they have shared this week, and all summer for that matter, concerning my Father In Law, Joseph Rieger.

We had a very nice ceremony for him on Wednesday attended by a lifetime of friends and family, all with fond memories of Joe.

The family is doing well, sad for our loss but happy Joe will have no more suffering. We have spent the past few days sharing the wonderful storys his friends have shared with us.

Thank you all so much.

I will be updating my storefront this evening and should have product for sale early next week. The past few months have shown us the value of family time and that there is far more to life than just business. As I already have a rather challenging full time career my strop work will continue from this point on as a more hobby oriented part time affair, instead of the every evening plus Saturday operation it used to be.
I'll be making most of my designs "to order", usually just 3 or 4 days a week.
