Ideal razor

OK this is my Ideal razor

I would like to buy one if any thing like it exists.

I am looking for something with the weight of a Merkur HD, Longer handle (I have big old mittens), has the opening and closing like a Gillette (the blade loads so much easier then the Merkur), and looks classic and cool to boot. :cool:

Is their such a thing or am I dreaming?

Well, there is the Vision. More futuristic and cool than classic and cool. But I think it might be the only razor that satisfies everything else.

If it wasn't for the long handle issue, there would be tons of options.

You could also go with a Gillette long black handle adjustable. But I'm not sure it is as heavy as you would like.

Will - I think Mo nailed it. Lots of options out there but your parameters narrow it down quite a bit.

Gillette slim adjustable? Must be about the same weight as the HD and definately has a longer handle.

Dude! You'll love the Slim. My hands aren't that big but I like the longer handle of the Merkur Classic Long Handle which got me to purchase the Slim Adjustable.

It has a long Handel?

Its heavy like the Merkur HD?

Its easy to open like all the Gillette's?

Ebay is loaded with them. Prices seem to be down because of good supply. I have a black handled adjustable. The handle is indeed painted. It does not seem to peel or wear off easily. Most of these old adjustables seem to have hitch or tight spot in the TTO. Mine has one but it works well and the blade tightens well with no issues. It's a good shaver.

You will get mostly the fat handle one, and the skinny like this one, which is longer. There will be a few of the Black ones. Some have a handle the same length as the thin adjustable. Some, like the second one I linked, have a longer handle.

Gillette Ladies razor (w/ the blue handle and stars).

Long handle, TTO, non adjustable... may be a little too light, but worth a shot.

Head of razor is same as a Superspeed TTO.

Not too sure about the looking cool part.
