On the inside of the razor head, does tit say Damaskene? If it does could you also post photos of that and the patent date?

Thanks.

This is a nice GEM and the price is right for sure. Anyone that has ever thought about trying a SE razor should pick this up!

So as a newbie I'm going to assume this is a pretty good razor? Can anyone help me out on selection.

This is the most recommended entry into single edge razors. The condition looks great. It's a "1912 patent" model (you can search other threads on that). Used one this morning and I'm happy.

Note that it's not a "DE" (double edge blade) razor so the range of blade brands is severely limited and this style is in the minority among users on this board. That being said, we (the Gemocrats) are an enthusiastic and loyal group.

This is a damaskeene, one of the first "1912s", has a unique thick heavy plain knurled handle that later ones don't have.
If you were only going to buy one 1912, this is the better one.
Sure it doesn't have a fancy ornate chain link pattern handle, but everything is thicker and heavier.
A 'damaskeene' was my first GEM and I used it everyday even though I have 7 other types of 1912 patent razors, plus 1914, 1924s etc.
