Description:
|
Price: I found these blades to be really expensive, especially when there are other blades half the price.
Quality: Quality is good. What i would expect from any blade at least.
Sharpness: This is where i find these blades a bit dissapointing. I find that they lack the sharpness and they always give me a bit more irritation than other blades.
Longetivity: Consistent performer. Last just as long as other blades that i have tried.
Smoothness of shave: They dont seem to be a match for me. Can be a bit rough on my face.
Packaging: Very good quality packaging.
Overall i found these blades to be ok. Especially if you have run out and cant find your favourite ones. But the price i think is just a bit to dear at 8 dollars australian dollars.

The German made WS blades disappoint...., way too expensive for what they are - a mediocre blade.
Regards
John
I have old stock English made WS ..., now they're a favourite and can be found cheap in France.

Until recently these were my first choice blade, I use the English ones and they gvae me the best shave of all blades available to me. I get around 4 shaves out of them but I usually replace the blade after three. Pricewise; I buy themn by the hundred, the most I've ever had to pay was £13 shipped, 13p per blade can't be bad.

Ah... You can't beat the cold steel and the badger. All this electrical rubbish, little wheels spinning around all over the place for callow youths and peach fluff, Not for a man's beard. Razor blades for men! I think we'll have this on number 9. If you're going to have a shave have a close one!

Easily available on the high street. Priced similar to Merkurs.
But the quality is variable. Sometimes a nice smooth shave, sometimes the blade drags, catches, and draws too much blood. It can look like a scene out of Buffy sometimes.
Plastic box is a little larger than the Merkur one so it occupies a little more space in my wash bag!

From the U.S. point of view. I like these blades. I get a smooth, consistent shave from them, and they last about as long as Derbys for me. That said, they are not worth twice as much of Israeli Personnas, which I find to be the most economical high-quality blade available.

these blades are trash,
i use merkur blades usually. i ran out and these were the only blade available. half of the razors were not even sharpened. the ones that were sharp shaved quite well. maybe it was just the pack that i bought, but these were low quality blades.

IMHO these are the second-to-last blades in my arsenal. I purchased a pack on a whim at Shoppers. I found that the first shave was not bad, but the second was a write-off.
About five-times as expensive as the Israeli blades I usually use, and about one-fifth the life.
Use only in a dire emergency.

After walking through my local BI-Mart I noticed seeing these along with the gillette super stainless "Face shredders!!!" I saw the price set at an ok $1.99 for a 5 pack so I figured that .40 cents a blade isnt all that bad. I tried them out on my merkur classic. Used my normal prep and lather routine and from my first stroke to my last was smoother than any I have tried. I usually use feathers and when I was out I ran for some U.S. personna from my local drugstore. But these; what a difference. The blade is ground at a more aggressive angle than the feather. The feather has a very deep, thin edge, while the ws has a tri honed, slightly more rounded edge. But after shaving with my feathers the prior morning, My face just wasnt up for the "assasin" sharp shave again. These are a great choice between merkur sharpness and the extreme feather sharpness. Great everyday kind of blade

Could be a little cheaper, but over all a great product. Not a single nick or scrape on my face. I like package which takes care of the old blades. If these are on sale, I buy them every time.

Decription of blade : Pack of blades that came for free with Wilkinson sword classic plastic safety razor in yellow blister pack, bought in Alcampo Supermarket, Madrid, Spain for 2.75 euros, they also sell the blades on their own for 4 euros (yea, i dont get it either) in a smilar yellow blister pack,
the pack of blades i bought when i started DE shaving,
well, i didnt buy it, i bought the Wilkinson classic plastic Safety razor that was pretty good for the price, and it came with a 5 razor pack, these blades,
now, at first, i blamed my bleeding on using a cheap plastic safety razor, then i blamed it on my bad lathering technique,
today i shaved with my nivea canned gel, its basicly the best canned goo you can find, atleast for my skin, i used my parker 96R, which is quite a nice cheapo razor, and i bleed, my face is smooth, but i had to take alot of passes to get that way, meanthing that it does shave well EVENTUALY, but it brouised my face and damaged my neck due to the excessive ammount of passes required to get this result, compared to the results i got the day before with a red pack US personna, these blades are over priced and are quite poor on the performance,

There seems to be a night & day difference between the Wilkinson black label & the white label, the white label perform a lot better for me.

I think these blades are great. Maybe they suit my novice skills, but I am very happy. I have tried Derbys, Feathers and 7ams. The 7am's felt as good, but I feel these Wilkos lasted for a couple of shaves longer.
I have pretty sensitive skin and then seemed fine for it.
I don't think I am going to rush out and buy more of them, but they might be the blades I request for my xmas stocking.

Rather contrarily, I've found the Wilkinsons that letterk has to be THE best blade for my face (so far). Sharp, smooth, burn-free, nick-free, easy shaves through up to 7 shaves.
They're a wee bit pricy, but ... I don't really care. Just about $10 shipped for a half-year supply? I realize there are cheaper blades, but I've tried them (Crystals/IPs, Derbys, etc.) and they are NOT for me. Bleck.
Wilkinson Sword gets the big for this face.

I can't believe this blade has such low ratings, I get a great shave with it, in fact, it's the only one I've used for 3 months now. I've tried personna's, precision and merkurs. Can't wait to try derby's and feathers.

->This is a pretty good blade, don't understand all the negativity, the ones I got tho were in a Yellow-Black packaging, The performed well and were sharp, no pulling. However at 5.57 Canadian plus taxes, makes these way more expensive then the merkurs.
