Gents,

I got the extreme pleasure of getting my hands on the new QED shave stick... before I go any further, place your order with Charles for one now before he sells out!! This thing is just out and out awesome! Thus far it comes in 2 scents…. Lime and Lavender. I have never been much of a lime fan but this is just superb, even BETTER than the Castle Forbes lime scent. Very dry, yet tarty and sweet hot damn does that thing smell amazing. I have had my nose buried in it all day!

Charles made it clear to me that this stick is not intended to replace creams or soaps, and is intended more for fun, to change things up a bit. I somewhat disagree with him this shave stick worked like magic. Wet your face, wipe the stick around a bit, and rube your wet brush around your face and you are IMMEDIATELY rewarded with profuse, lime drenched lather. It was VERY quick and easy to use, and the lather provided great lubrication not as much as an English cream, but certainly as much as an English soap. This allowed a TREMENDOUSLY close, comfortable shave, without the burden of irritation. Very fun to use, very compact and transportable, and very convenient.

The numbers…..
Scent 10 (VERY rare for anything in my book to get a 10)
Lubrication 7
Packaging 5*
Ease of use 8
Shave Quality 9
Convenience 9
Comfort 9
Durability 8
* The quality of the tube is VERY high, however the label is cheesy with that said it is a preliminary version so the final version might look better. Personally I would rather have a less expensive shave stick that looked cheesy than a more expensive one that looked classy
All I could ask for is this bad boy in peppermint to match the QED man soap, and maybe a cake version of this soap to my mugs.

QED lime is the best lime scent out there, period. It is the best of the QED soaps, IMO. Great stuff

... and still one of my top three favorites. QED Lime has the strongest, limiest scent I've experiences. A true lime scent rather than a sweet, lime candy scent.
In my experience with all of the QED soaps I've tried, some practice is required to get a good lather. When you do everything right, which isn't hard, you'll be rewarded with a super thick, slick, highly scented lather that is hard to beat.

I really like this stuff. It has a very good lime scent. I use it mostly as my travel shave soap but also as a touch up. I apply it directly to an area with stubble (meaning an area I missed) and then shave without lather. This works great for under my nose or around my sideburns.

Being a newb, I found this stuff pretty darn easy to lather. A few runs around the face and then hit it with a wet brush and you got plenty of rich, thick lather for at least 3 passes without having to reapply the shavestick to your face, incredible!
The lime scent is a little off imo, smells like lime jelly beans or licorice to me, so if you like that, you'll love this stuff. And if not, the scent isn't too powerful so it doesn't take away from the pleasure shaving with this stuff!
Another awesome product from Charles!

Oh my gosh. I just procured a stick of the QED lime in a trade, and tried it this evening. Color me impressed. I was skeptical about the lathering with a shave stick. I didn't think the whole rubbing it on your face would work. But the lather exploded off of my brush. And the lime smell was great! I now have 2 lime soaps - the other being the Honeybee lime. It is more of a sweet, candy lime smell (which I still love), while this is a pure lime scent. And the lather smells great. I got a great 3 pass BBS with this stuff using my red tip SS, and I don't feel a bit of irritation. The only downside to this is that I now have to find more money as I now have another vendor I need to spend money with!

Man oh man the scent of this stick is amazing Seriously, its addictive. I don't get the "candy" lime. To me its more of a real lime scent, and its very "tangy". I don't know how to describe it, but I really like it, and so does SWMBO so that settles it.
This was my first attempt at face lathering and it worked like a charm. In fact I think it hooked me on face lathering. My best shave to date was with this product.
I really dig the tube. I am going to be traveling a lot for business and I can see myself having several different scents in these tubes on the road with me.
QED puts out some great products, and this is no exception.

Just tried this stuff last night. I love the scent but love the latherability even more. Lots of nice slick lather with only a few rubs on my face. My only issue is the price...
Highly recommended.

This is a great value for the money if you like strong tangy and fruity lime scents. I am still trying to master the stick, but this is great for traveling and it lathers very well. Charles makes a great product and this is a winner.

I love lime and there is no soap out there that is more pure and limey than QED. The stick form is extremely convenient and this soap lathers like nobodys business. I use my small Vulfix #9 boar to face lather it and there is enough soap and lather on the brush for several passes.
The lather is extremely slick and lubricating, and OMG that lime scent is unbelieveable! Awesome stuff.
The price is reasonable for what you get. The only thing I dinged it on is moisturizing. I am used to soaps like Institut Karite and Tabac that leave my face smooth and comfortable. My face is tight after a QED shave and needs some balm. I guess I will have to break down and get some Castle Forbes lime balm again. Poor me!
Seriously, this is really good stuff. If you like soaps and you like lime, look no further than this. Be aware that the intense lime may be a problem if you have sensitive skin. But it's worth the price. Wonderful soap that performs on a par with tallow imho.

Asked for this stick as part of a birthday gift and I'm absolutely in love with it. Enough digital ink has been spilled about the scent, but I won't let that stop me; Charles sent along samplers of Trumper's Lime Skin Food and the stick's scent puts it to shame. Unbelievably fresh and sweet without being synthetic or cloying; the reviewer who analogized it to lime peel is pretty spot on (I'd say fresh lime zest).
This is also my first shave stick and it's pretty idiot proof. About fifteen seconds of application yielded enough lather for a five pass shave (although I only needed two and some touchups). Slickness was amazing; at times, I thought I had messed up my angle and was just dragging the guide over my skin.
I docked a few points on price (even though it was a gift) because $9.50 is a pretty hefty sum for a shave stick when you get more than twice the amount in a tub for four extra bucks. It didn't dry me out, but I always need an ASB after I shave, so I only gave a 7 for moisturizing. All in all, it's highly recommended as a travel product or just a change of pace soap; I'll definitely order a puck of QED Lime with my next order.

Ok, if you are looking for a lime-scented soap, this is all you need. It smells just like fresh-sqeezed limes.
I have found that the lather is not as thick as some others that I have tried, but it was still plenty to do a three-pass shave that was close and comfortable. No irritation whatsoever.
Price got dinged a little, mostly because the shipping put the cost of this shave stick for me close to $13. But honestly? Worth it. I would and will do it again, though I will likely go for a tub next time.
The stick container is sturdy, and super nice for travel, but when it gets wet the label does smear. Oh well.
The only thing I can say negative about it is it would not be good as an everyday shave soap. The scent is strong, which is nice, but can border on overpowering if used too often.
Go get some.
