I'm a Captain fan already. I love Lime scent anyhow and have been waiting for this product to come out. This is a great, fresh, lime scent added to an awesome Bay Rum. It still has all the great properties of the original, but with a fantastic, fresh lime scent added.

I waited along with everyone for the testing to be completed on this CC product and it was well worth the wait.
The scent is refreshing and lingers just long enough to not over-power me the entire day
I'll purchase more of this when the bottle is empty

Works OK. Smell is reminds me too much of a 7-11 Slurpee. I like Skin Bracer more for the classic scent.

Great classic manly scent. And the smells stays with you for a long time.
Super strong cooling effect. Which also seems to last a very long time.
Does not heal the skin as well as say Speick balm.
Dirt cheap and easy to find.

My first new razor. Before this I used a vintage Gillette President. This is more aggressive and better balanced. It is harder to hold with no deep knurling to keep it from slipping with lather on your hand but no real problem. The weight is perfect for a beginner to use no pressure and get a smooth irritation free shave with a good blade.
This is my 2nd favorite next to my Merkur Progress.

My new favorite razor. I gave it a 5 in Aggressiveness because it depends upon the adjustment.
I have found the adjustments for my different blades including the ones that I didn't like in my other razors. With the Progress you can turn a sharp blade like a Feather into a great mild shaver with a 2 on the adjustment scale or a Merkur blade on 3.5 - 4 into a decent 2 shave blade without any problem. 2 passes with any blade and you can tell if you need to go up or down to make it shave your way.
All I would change is the plastic knob to metal.

I received this brush as a set with the Mühle R89 razor and stand as a gift. Great choice from my wife but this brush is heavy. I have a few others and I have decided that my favorite brushes have fan tip bristles. I have a few Mühle brushes and I prefer the standard bulb shape handle to the steel handle. The handle was designed to match the Mühle R89 Razor and it does so flawlessly but it is not my preferred brush to use on a daily basis. If you want a matching brush for the Mühle R89 this is a great well made brush. Mine is 2 years old and in my rotation and still making great lather without shedding.

I have used both the Captain's Choice Original Bay Rum and the Cat-O-Nine Tails, and I have been very impressed with both of them, so when I saw that a Lime scent was released I was pretty excited to try it.
Lime is one of the scent's that I have recently discovered and everyone has a different take on the scent so I didn't know what to expect from the Captain's version.
I definitely was not disappointed. The lime is by no means overpowering but it seems almost subtle and adds a richness to the overall experience. As with the Captain's other two products, the Lime really delivers in the scent area but it only lasts about 15 minutes for me and then fades away.
Regarding my ranking on the cooling aspect, to me it is more of a warming sensation with a great initial feel which tapers off nicely. As for an alcohol burn, I would not necessarily classify it as what a typical burn may feel like, but it will wake you up depending on how rough your shave turns out.
This product is sure to please any lime aficionado and possibly convert a few of the remaining groups. I highly recommend this product but I classify this as a great face conditioner for immediately after a shave which also lends itself to not interfering with a cologne afterwards.

This is the most disgusting smelling cologne I haver ever been exposed to. The only way I can describe the smell is: A mix of moth balls and a stale potpourri of mostly roses. I saw on another board somebody described it as smelling like a dingy old thrift store or a 5 and Dime - this I would agree with too (you know mothballs and and potpourri are always at such). Yuck!

Price: At $15.95 plus shipping, it’s cheaper than a silvertip knot, but definitely not the cheapest knot out there. After having used the knot, I’m very satisfied with the purchase.
Quality: The build on this knot is excellent. It mounted into the brush handle with ease, fit snugly, as expected. It’s dropped three bristles since I started using it, but I’m pretty rough on brushes, so I’m actually calling that a good sign. Others have said theirs didn’t drop a single bristle, so that’s why I docked a point here.
Density: This knot is extremely dense. Gripping it toward the base of the knot yields exactly no play. It feels rather solid up to about 3/8 – 1/2 inch above the base where the bristles narrow and splay. I bought this knot because other reviews of smaller knots of the same make stated they dry very quickly, but with the density of the bristles on the 24mm knot, I can thoroughly shake out the brush, the way you would shake out a mercury thermometer, and put it in the stand. The next morning it’s still damp. It dries slower than all of my other brushes. I’d say that’s on account of density, since the bristles don’t actually absorb water.
Stiffness of Tips: I rate it medium-high on the stiffness scale. It’s rather comparable in backbone to my B&B Essential brush. It’s probably slightly less rigid, but still a very nice firmness to it.
Softness of Tips: It’s an interesting feeling. You can feel each of the bristles on your skin, yet they give so easily at the tips. It feels pillow soft on the skin, no scritch whatsoever, no irritation. I head and face lather, and it’s always a treat.
Ergonomic: I have to give a 10 here, it’s as ergonomic as whatever handle you put it in.
Latherability: This is where this brush really shines, less a little quirk here or there. The bristles don’t absorb anything, they just hold whatever you put in there. It takes less product to get the job done with this brush. I can load up with Taconic Shave or KMF creams and it’ll put out lather for 5 or 6 passes on what I normally put in my badger brush to get 3 passes. I can load up with any given soap as I would with my badger and get an extra pass or two out of the load. This is nice being I shave my whole head. I have to admit though, that I don’t know how to load less soap. I only know how to load the brush properly. So if you’re using soaps, unless you know something I don’t, you won’t see any economy out of the purchase. But if you use creams, try a peanut size drop instead of an almond and see how far it gets you. I bet you can get your three passes out of it.
Quirks: It’s nylon bristle, so it’s springy. I inadvertently flicked little droplets of soap on my wife while loading the brush. She was a few feet away, but still felt it. And I tend to pepper the counters and mirror with little droplets that get flung off as the bristles spring free at the end of a stroke. I end up wiping the counters and mirror down at the end of the shave anyway, so it doesn’t really matter for me, but something for you to consider.
Overall: It’s a really great knot for the price. It’s very soft tipped, and dense, and firm enough to excel with anything you want to use it with, from triple milled to liquid creams. Depending on your product, it can seem like it won’t ever stop giving up lather. If you’re looking for a synthetic for any reason other than travel, I would definitely give this one a go. It’s a gem. However, if you’re looking for a quick drying knot for travel, keep looking, you haven’t found it here. It holds onto water like a camel.
