Honestly I may be too much of a noob to be reviewing anything given the extremely shallow depth of my experience, however I got this soap and I was really impressed. First it lathered up nice and very fast, no sting going on my face. The scent is awesome to me, but it might be a bit over the top or just wrong for others. What really impressed me with this was the shave I got. Very smooth, slippery, and really let me enjoy my shave. I had to stop myself from doing a 4th pass for fear or ruining the experience with irritation and blood.

Going from an Omega 80005 to this Kent bk4 and WOW what a difference in lather amount and quality (same routine) using creams. It is a very soft on the face brush and although I though the handle would be hard to use (I thought I would have trouble with the pinch grip end) it actually fits well and is very sturdy to hold, even when wet. No hairs falling out yet, but I've only used it once. As for size, it fits my face pretty well, even when splayed out. Gripes: it is a very floppy brush, it's like a hamsters hair, when wet, it sags, but after a shake or too to dry off, it puffs back. If you are looking for your brush to give you a bit of a face scrub, look else where as the tips are cotton soft. And although the packaging/box is nice... it adds to the cost of the product, and once I take my brush out of the box, the box goes to the side anyways. On the subject of cost.... I know looking at the world of brushes $80 isn't extreme.... but step back for a sec... $80 for a small brush? It does it job well however and caresses my face. Verdict: Its performance, handle and feel out weigh any cost concerns. A buy in my books.

I personally like the scent of this product, but I could see where others may not. it's scent is very unique. Speick applies well and produces a nice lather. I don't find it particularly moisturizing and I would like to see it packaged in a resealable plastic tube, like Lea or LaToja.

As mentioned I can't think of a better starter razor you can currently buy brand new that can compete with this little trooper in a dollar for dollar comparison. To address some concerns raised in earlier reviews: - The blade change isn't any harder than any other 3 piece. - The handle is slightly short, though its not perceivable different to the HD in length. -Grip is a little less than perfect but I've not had any issues due to this. All said if you're starting out and really want to buy new there's no good reason not to consider this one.

One thing that is often said in our ranks, is that DE shaving will save you money. I guess that is possible theoretically, but I doubt it is money saving for many on this board. Honestly, how many creams, soaps, brushes, razors, etc do you have in your Shave Den right this moment? This is a hobby, and hobbies cost money, they are what you spend your disposable income on, because they bring you pleasure and satisfaction. Sure I guess you could buy the cheapest shave soap, boar brush, razor, blades and aftershave, but where is the fun in that? Truth is, if you want to save money, you can buy a 4 pack of cheap goo at a wholesale club, a buttload of disposable razors at said club, shave once a week and not use aftershave. This is what I did when I was in college to save money. I probably spent $40 and that lasted me a year. I am lucky to spend that a month now. However, 15 years after college my neck still bears the pot marks and discoloration of abusing it with cheap products and bad technique till just a couple years ago. It is products like this that make spending the extra money worth it.It just brings your shave to another level. I work, I have a mortgage, bills, and responsibilities, I like to start my stressful workday knowing I am doing something out of the ordinary, adding a little retro male pampering to my day. I have several regular badger brushes and they are all fine, but I wanted to upgrade to a Silvertip. It was worth it! I bought the ebony model of this brush, and it is my favorite brush. I own five brushes total, but this is the only Silvertip. It blows the others away. The first time I used it I was amazed by how the lather exploded as soon as you started to whip it with this brush. It also cut my lather time down considerably from a regular badger. As I applied the lather, there was no discomfort, the brush felt soft and comfortable. My experience is that EJ brushes are a little more scratchy in general, but this brush is not that way at all (YMMV). It retained water just as you would expect a Silver tip to hold water. I have noticed little shedding. Overall, this has become my go to brush. I gave this brush a 7 on price, but that is only because I paid $126 and it seems like some others have paid less for it. Still, at $126, I would purchase it again. The cons: I do agree that it is a smaller brush. I tend to like brushes that are a little smaller in size, because they are easier to handle and more precise. I find this helps to keep the lather out of my nose and off my ears. I don't mind having to spend a little extra time on application to get my whiskers sufficiently covered, if I can avoid the discomfort of soap in my nose. However, I do agree that if you have normal or larger hands it is a little hard to hold. I have a little bit larger than average hands with some arthritis, and this can be tough to grip at times. Maybe as I get older, it will be more of an issue, but right now it is no big deal. One reviewer also mentioned that you have to face lather with this product. Personally, I found myself using a smaller bowl, and I still get enough for 3 passes, and don't find the brush being consumed by the bowl and the lather, like it was when I used a bigger bowl. Overall: If you want a little smaller Silver tip brush that is well built, but won't break the budget, this is a great choice. As I said, it has quickly become my go to brush. For me, I hope to one day have a Simpson, but until then, this is a nice beginner brush to introduce yourself into the luxury that is a Silver tip Badger.

I have recently purchased a 1920's open comb and I love it! I was a little leery after some reviews stated that todays blades dont fit well in it and that you should most likely shim it to receive a better shave... This is absolutely not the case! I have tried two blades in mine, the Crystal Red and Feather, both have given me excellent shaves with little to no irritation! As a matter of fact, I received a BBS shave this morning with this razor loaded with a 4 day old Feather blade. Do not be afraid but be respectful and use proper technique and you too will experience all that I have! Highly recommend this razor!

I love this product! A little goes a long ways with it. I use a drop about the size of a pea and it covers the whole face with product to spare! The scent is light yet pleasurable and very calming to irritated skin. I love using this in combination with Dragon Ice -really kills razor burn fast and you remain comfortable all day long. Grab some, you'll be glad you did!

I really enjoy using this brush! I like the heavy metal feel and the softness of the silvertip bristles. The work quality is impressive and I've had practically no shedding which is amazing! It's a great brush and makes a mean lather quickly. It delivers a wetter shaving lather as the bristles really soak up the water when you soak it. Grab one!

I absolutely love the scent of this product - so fresh and masculine - not soapy at all! Then moisturizing is great and contributes to a very close shave! I don't get nicks with this cream! The lather lasts forever and whips up quickly! One of my favorites for shaving rotation! Try it - you'll love it!

Price: I bought this soap on the Signature soaps website for a very reasonable £7 for a 220g tub, a good price for a quality handmade soap . Scent: The soap itself smells fantastic, very natural smelling, zesty, almost smells like you could eat it, I haven't yet browsed through the ingredients but I suspect this soap uses essential oils for scent rather than a synthetic fragrance Lather: Lathers fairly easily once you have done a test lather with this soap, some soaps like lots of water , some not so much, the trick with this soap is to add a little water, lather, then add a little more , basically add a little at a time. Efficacy: Throughout the shave this soap provided lots of cushion and glide and was very slick , the lather is as dense as I would want and does not dry out on my face like some soaps and does not collapse. Moisturizing: After shaving my face felt great, my skin felt smooth and very hydrated Bottom line: I would recommend this soap to anyone, for £7 it offers great value, I will be ordering this again
