Description: Here's a product that delivers a sublime performance. It is part of a rotation composed of Penhaligon's Endymion and DR Harris Arlington. Although I will admit that I prefer Endymion's fragrance, Floris no.89 delivers a smooth, irritation-free shave and leaves the skin hydrated and soft for hours on end. I bought this product with the hopes that it would be a non-lathering and thus not a soap-based product. After a closer look but without having tried it yet, I thought it was a soap-based cream. Now that I've shaved with it, I believe this product is in fact a non-lathering cream. Although I don't shave with lather, I thought I'd go ahead and see what kind of lather I could get, just for kicks and giggles. No amount of whipping would produce anything, and the cream just disappeared into the brush. This is all moot since as I've alluded to already, I'm a non-soap and non-lathering kind of guy. All that aside, I got a BBS shave with this cream. With one finger I scooped out an almond-sized dollop, spread it across all fingers, and applied to my face. As I said before, the scent is very mild so don't worry about your sinuses being overwhelmed by fragrance fumes (Rasoline, I'm looking at you). Even with the tea tree, eucalyptus and minty ingredients, I didn't sense any cooling sensation. After all was said and done, my skin felt moisturized and there was no irritation.

Description: I haven't used this product since I took up DE shaving, but when I did use it on my old Gillette Mach 3 I found it to be a fantastic product. Everyone I turned on to it also agreed. Terrific coconut smell (strong than say Trumpers), with wonderful efficacy and gives a very close shave. It would be no problem to get as BBS smooth shave out of this with a DE razor. I will re-review once I get through the other creams I've got on the shelf, but I'd been keen to hear others' experience in the meantime.

Price is $6-7. Purchased at Raley's/Bel Air Supermarket, haven't seen it elsewhere but haven't done much additional shopping for it. Overall I would rate it an excellent product for home and travel use. Razor used was a 2-blade disposable and after daily use for 2 weeks with this product is still capable of giving a good shave.

Description: My first cream I have used in my new wet shaving adventure. Being a total novice I bought this because I like the packaging and the reference to old British Rock. This product can be found at Royal Shave and is made in Great Britain. I do not have much to compare this too, but overall I love it. Way better than all the can stuff I have used. This product can be used with or without a brush. I use a brush and drop a bit in a shave mug and get a good lather. This cream kind of looks like watered down oatmeal. I love the smell of this stuff, and it seems to perform well! This is sold at Herrod's in Great Britain and is I guess a fancy product. A bit pricey at $19.99 buy I do like it and believe it may be a fun thing to try out.

The scent has a very nice barbershop scent with honey odor because of propolis and it lathers very easily also skincare is great and again propolis is disinfectant and anti-inflammatory also anti oxidant and triple action is aloe vitamin e and tea tree oil Its long lasting power lather is enough for multi pass shaves and my son really likes it alot. This is NOT recommended for those who are allergic and sensitive to bee products, supermax recently reformulated ony the classic variant sometime in mid 2010 but im not sure if you like this the dead giveaway is the propolis logo on carton box the old formulation is still in many supermarkets.

Description: Happened to be in mid-town Manhattan and stopped in the Madison Avenue AoS store to see if they had this new Ocean Kelp cream in stock. Got it. My favorite creams are T&H (and of course the ultra expensive Penhaligon) but at $30 a pop, not cheap. IMHO, while most products at AoS are overpriced, their creams are a real value, from both quality and price points of view. Now to the Ocean Kelp. Tried it first time this morning, with a Futur and Astra platinum. Without too much cream, it burst into a very smooth, well covering cream. Thick but smoothed. Liked that it held the warmth from the hot water on the brush for quite awhile. The scent is mild, a little like a milder version of ToOBS Eton College. Very nice. Definitely glad I spent the $22 for this. It is a winner.

Description: A very generous member on here PIFed me some brushless creams, and the one that easily stood out of the bunch was Zirh Aloe Shaving Cream. Simply put: Slick, moisturizing, cushioning, and I didn't have any cuts under my chin/in my neck area. I didn't have to use a post shave lotion, just had to rinse the stuff off. Added bonus: it has a very sterile scent, I would say scentless. If you have any allergies to fragrance this'll do it for you. Cons: This stuff is goopy and super sticky. Lathering with a brush means you don't have to get your hands all sticky and you don't have to rinse it multiple times during a shave. With a brushless cream, the stuff gets on your razor handle, in your razor head and on the tap. If you want to reapply, you have to go through the entire process again. Rinsing it out of your razor and face takes a while, and doesn't wash off as easy as regular lather. Not to mention, slopping goo on your face doesn't seem nearly as civilized as lathering as a brush. Just saying. In conclusion: If this cream was judged purely on it's performance and lather isn't a big deal, it would get high marks. Performance wise, it does it's job well by protecting and moisturizing your face. I was very satisfied by my shave. However, I have a razor with a smooth handle, and I had to rinse the handle and my hands multiple times. The lather was also cold, unlike the soothing warm or hot lather we make with a brush. The cream also collects in your razor head, along with the little hairs you just shaved off. Since this stuff is sticky, you have to unscrew the head a little and rinse it off. Inconvenient. This cream does well - only if you don't mind the goo making your shave more slippery. Should you buy it? If you really don't mind slapping goo on your face, you have an iron grip, and you don't want to use a brush, I highly recommend it. It does its job admirably. If you are not the person I just described, you have better options out there.

Description: So I trolled the shaving cream reviews for some time looking for a good cream. So when I saw that azmark, an institution on these boards, wrote such a positive review � I bought �sight unseen.� It was one of my best Wet Shaving decisions. I didn�t think so at first not being a huge almond fan but like I always say, �I can get past most things if something works!� And this stuff works! Price � 10 - $20 USD bucks. For a product that I now proudly leave on my counter, I would say $20.00 is a steal. Quality � 10 - Ok so I don�t like almond scents, but when I initially opened the tub and gave it a whiff, clearly it was complex leading one to think quality. Somehow, it seems �richer� than the plastic tub and $20.00 dollar price tag leads on though. Moreover, reading the ingredient list, you have to know this is going to be a good product. I would say this is a millionaire slumming in a VW GTI. Latherability � 10 - This is something I normally hesitate speaking to because the water I have at home is so hard that I can only drool at the photos guys post here with their brushes all loaded up. Having said that, I am glad to report that this stuff lathers like a king even for me! I look at it, and it lathers lol! Truly � I was shocked. Efficacy � 10 - this is another category I have issues with because I am not sure the true definition of it with respect to shaving (note to self � look up the word efficacy on the B&B wiki). Again though, 1869 proved to me that I might have learned something here. This product allows me to use repeated short strokes. I generally have to use long flowing strokes across my face as the creams I have just don�t have the �efficacy� 1869 affords me. Truly, the best �efficacy� product I have tried (Al�s being a close second). Moisterizing Properties � 10 � this stuff is one, if not the only product that were I to forget to put on balm, it wouldn�t leave me suffering. I hate to gush but so far � this has to be the most moisturizing cream I have used. Packaging � 9 � Like I said, I proudly display this on my counter. Half of it is because it�s such an awesome product, the other half is because I kind of like the brown on brown look. As it stands right now, my rotation is being ignored! I have grown to like the scent and constantly look to the abilities 1869 affords me. I just can�t say enough good things about it! And that�s saying a lot, as I have the retention for �stick-to-itiveness� with respect to product of a goldfish, my wife assures me.

Lather up this soft shaving cream is very easy to do and while adding water to get the cream as it has to be, the lather itself does not dry down on the skin neither in the brush nor on your face. The razor blade is nearly non-perceptible, cuts your whiskers effortlessly. Amazing, really. I Coloniali shaving products (range: Mens Rituals) are one of the best available out there. Description: I got a sample of this cream from Jarrod at The Superior Shave for $4USD. I used the English Rose scent the other day and now it's time for the Lavender. Before anything else, I would like to say that these Vulfix creams are denser, provide more cushion and have more viscosity than Proraso, which I used for about a year. Some say they are equal in performance to Proraso, but I find them a bit better including moisturizing properties. Scent: First off, to me it doesn't smell like a detergent as some people say. But I haven't tried other Lavender creams so I can't compare that much. If you ever smelled "A�eja Lavanda" by Antonio Puig, this cream smells EXACTLY the same. While the Vulfix Rose has a very romantic scent with an orgasmic hint, the Lavender has a romantic scent but with a manly hint to it. The scent gets stronger when you lather it, but it's not overwhelming. Still, you can notice it through the shave. Moisturizing: the same moistorizing as the Rose, and of course less drying than Proraso. However, I have kind of oily skin, so I can't know if it's great for dry skin. Given the amount you get for the price, it's a great value. And yes, it lathers VERY easily and a little goes a long way. However, I'd recommend you to get a sample as I did. Description: I got a sample of this cream from Jarrod at The Superior Shave. The price is excellent. Although I bought a sample, you get a lot of this for only $20USD. A little goes a long way. It moisturizes very well and creates a perfect slippery layer on the skin. My straight razor glided much nicer than with other things I've tried. This cream has more cushion than Proraso which I used for about a year. This is the first rose scented cream I try so I have nothing else to compare. I would describe it as a very natural, neutral scent, not too feminine (but it may seem like that at first) nor macho scent, just natural. But if I could decribe it with only one word it would be ROMANTIC. However, I have to say that it HAS an "orgasmic" hint to it :em2200: And no, to me it doesn't smell like a funeral or a grandma's perfume as some people say about rose scented creams. I find it to be a romantic scent with an orgasmic hint (you may find that sexy in some way). This is not the "I'm the macho who killed Bambi's mother" scent. It's more in the gentlemanly/romantic category. The scent is not very strong but it's there. If I had to give the scent a grade (in terms of strenght only) from 1 to 5 stars, it would be 3.5 stars. Lathers very easily and it stays pretty moist during the complete shave. You can get a sample as I did before purchasing the big jar. I'm sure you won't be dissapointed. Palmindaya contains stearic acid, potassium hydroxide, coconut oil, water, lanolin, boric acid, sodium silicate, sucrose, menthol, glycerin and an additional fragrance. It comes in 60-, 240-, and giant 700-gram (25 ounce) sizes. If you ever get through the largest container, you�ll find it big enough to bathe the family dog. Palmindaya is a softer-than-usual and slippery cream that seems to jump onto a brush. It�s easy to overload the brush if you�re not careful. I chose to take small dabs with my finger and apply light patches directly to my face. The Omega boar that I used made a generous, medium-thick, slippery lather that easily lasted four passes. The lather was one of the slickest I�ve encountered, and it seemed to provide good cushioning. As lather, the cream lost most of its menthol punch, and the other fragrance-base became more pronounced. It still had an old-time barber shop smell that reminded me of my youth. The cream is soothing, refreshing and minimally moisturizing. I had an excellent shave, notable for its comfort as well as its closeness. I felt that a drop or two of a moisturizing lotion was called for. Palmindaya may be difficult to find outside Brazil. It is reportedly available mainly through barber-supply outlets even within the country. It�s hard to find, but your efforts will be rewarded if you manage to locate it.

Description: I was lucky enough to receive a package containing a number of shaving products from Brazil and Argentina yesterday. Based on my first uses of Nazca shaving cream, I am really excited to explore each product and to share my findings with the B&B community. It's my hope that others who have tried them will add their opinions as well. On the way home from the post office, I pierced the top of the Nazca and fell in love with it. It was so slippery and had such a fantastic scent. I knew I had to try it first. I shaved as soon as I got home. I thought I would see exactly how good it was, so I loaded a new Perma-Sharp into my R41 2011--a combination that would truly test the cream. It is so aggressive I have only used it with super-lathers that included Frasers to soften my beard, alomg with MWF or Tabac soaps for glide and cushioning. Nazca did a superb job. Four passes without irritation and BBS. Wonderful, clean scent that happily lingered a bit. The lather was thinner than the superlather, but did the job even better. I was very, very impressed. I asked six friends to put a dab of the cream on a fingertips and describe the scent. Comments included: very clean (everyone), very slippery, nice enough for a cologne, neither masculine nor feminine, floral overtones, hint of menthol or mint, and "like sticking your head into the cold-case display at the florist". I know that Nazca contains Aloe Vera, but whether it alone is responsible for the lovely, clean scent I don't know. Nazca is reminiscent of Musgo Real in texture, but perhaps even slicker, and has an even cleaner and fresher smell.

Description: I blind bought this based on my amazing past dealings with Phil at Bullgoose Shaving. This cream definitely didn't disappoint. It is pure essential oils, which I was afraid would irritate my skin once I smelled how stout the smell was (in the best possible way) but it feels really good on my skin. I used it today and face lathered like I always do and it is simply amazing. It is slick and creamy and provided one of the best shaves I've ever had. It smells like rich wood and keeps the scent throughout the shave. It smelled so good I was almost sad that I couldn't make another pass, although it pairs perfectly with my Pinaud Special Reserve aftershave. I usually make three passes (WTG and 2 XTG passes) because ATG is usually not comfortable for me during or after, but this cream was so slick I had to give it a go. I kept my slim set on 5 and my ATG pass went without a hitch. I will be ordering the other scent from Phil soon and probably the other scents of this cream from here out. If you don't have this cream, buy it soon.

Description: Gents (& Ladies if you'r reading!), There's hardly any buzz around this product on the web that I have found, and almost no mention of it here at B&B, so I purchased it and will give you review with my first impressions. I've given it about 4 shaves and I am impressed with this product. The Aesthetics: It comes from Mayfair London and the packaging is some of the classiest in the business. It's not Acqua di Parma level packaging, but it is certainly nice and has a luxury feel and look to it. It oozes a feeling of class and luxury. I put it ahead of the 3 Ts. The cream is white and very very creamy in consistency. It might even be a tad runnier in consistency than the 3 Ts. I'm not sure if it is manufactured at Creighton's or not, but I wouldn't be surprised if it were. The Performance: I have been using the traditional almond sized "snurdle" in my bowl which instantly explodes into an insane amount of thick, slick, yummy goodness (I'm tempted to taste it). I am a headshaver, so that much cream yields me plenty to do 2 passes on my face and 2 passes on my head with cream to spare. If I were only doing 2-3 passes on my face, a peanut sized dab would do the job. The first time I tried this cream, I used it in conjunction with the same branded pre-shave oil (which, on a separate note, is second to none) and I had one of the best shaves of my life in terms of slickness, comfort, and amazing moisturizing properties. In order to better judge the cream by itself, I used it the last two shaves without the pre-shave oil. I did notice the difference, but I can vouch that even by itself, this cream is a top shelf performer. Very slick and very moisturizing. A very slick residue is left on the face between passes. It almost felt like I was using a tallow based soap . "Heresy" you might say.... but it's good stuff guys. The optimal setup for me was using it with the pre-shave oil, which did not in any way clog my razor or leave residue in my brush as 99% of pre-shave products on the market do, but I would still be very happy just using the cream by itself as well. I would say if used with the oil, there is definitely no need for an AS. The oil is amazing at moisturizing. The Scent: This can make or break a cream for some of us. The scent is VERY light, and it smells fantastic. It's almost a therapeutic smell. The predominant note is bergamot, but I can smell other things in the mix. Since it is such a lightly scented cream, it is hard to make out the whole note profile in the scent, but if I were a betting man, I would say that I think there might be some lavender, something light and green (basil perhaps), and an every so tiny dash of woods. It does have some coumarin in it, which tends to smell vanilla-ish, but I don't know if it is detectable here. It smells fantastic and I don't see how it would be offensive to anyone. Very pleasant. The Ingredients: The interesting stuff - Babassu Oil and Manuka Honey. I'm not a scientist, dermatologist, chemist, or expert by any means. But supposedly, the Babassu oil protects and moisturizes and the Manuka Honey comes from a manuka plant which does all sorts of fun stuff for your skin. Here is the complete rundown: Aqua, Stearic Acid, Mystiric Acid, Potassium Hydroxide, Conconut Acid, Glycerin (Veg), Parfum, Triethanolamine, Orbignhya Oleifera (Babassu), Seed Oil, Mel (Manuka Honey), Sodium Hydroxide, Linalool, Limonene, Hexyl Cinnamal, Coumarin, Eugenol, Alpha-Isometyhl Ionone. So, for those of you who are concerned, it is Paraben free. The Cost: This is $25 for a 4.4 oz tub, so it's not the most expensive cream out there, but certainly not the cheapest. If you buy other products from them such as the pre-shave oil or after shave balms, they offer bundled discounts. I paid $85 and picked up the pre-shave oil, the shave cream, and the ASB. Final Thoughts: It is a fantastic product, but not the absolute best. I feel it is a good value and I highly recommend it as something worth checking out if you have tried everything under the sun and want to see something new to add to the den. The packaging and presentation are very classy and look great sitting on the sink counter. I will keep this in the summer rotation and see how bad I miss it before re-ordering another tub. The pre-shave oil will no doubt remain a staple in the den. It's the best I have tried and I have tried more than a few.

Description: Ok I'm gonna start off by saying it's surprising that this cream hasn't had a review posted on b and b before now but was start in front of the pc and thought, why not write a review as I am a total convert :001_tt1:. So how does this cream shape up in my humble opinion? Price = approx �14.00 TO �15.00 depending on where you buy it, however like with all creams you only need a small amount to generate a good lather so the price for me is reasonable, in fact very reasonable for what you get in return, which will be explained later on. Quality = The quality of the product is superb, packaging is classy with a skull and crossbones on the top of the screw lid, labelling looks good and the quality of the cream inside initially to me looked a little runny but I understand that is how its supposed to be and generally looks a very upmarket product. Scent = Difficult to describe, the advertising for bluebeards revenge class it as barbershop with a modern twist or words to that effect. In my opinion it does smell barbershop but its not overpowering and is quite pleasant to my nose, the scent stays in the lather and does not linger for too long once your shave is finished, making it ideal for when using aftershave and/or cologne. Latherability = This cream just becomes pure lather, I've tried several different brushes, boar, Best badger, silvertip and also Synthetic (syntex) and all of them can whip this cream into an excellent lather quite easily and the lather goes on quickly and smoothly from the brush. The cream is very forgiving in terms of water and the lather also lasts a long while too. Efficacy = The effect is brilliant, no matter what type of razor you are using, this stuff just softens facial hair like nothing else, whether you use a cartridge razor (I've used a gillette sensor when I've been in a hurry in the morning) a de razor (merkur 38c, ej89 l and a merkur 37c) or a straight (dovo best quality with black scales) the best part is there is virtually no razor burn with this stuff too, absolutely brilliant! Moisturising = Again this stuff is very good, no need for an aftershave balm unless you feel the need, face feels excellent after a shave. Packaging = Comes in a plastic screw lid pot, I would of preferred glass so that the pot could be recycled but generally the packaging is excellent. The pot comes in a blue box that just screams class. There is also an added ingredient, called Decelerine. This is supposed to slow down beard growth, which is ideal for me as I have a very quick growing, coarse beard. This is my new go to cream and will be writing a review of the post shave balm that bluebeards do once payday arrives. If you haven't already got some of this stuff, go and order some now, you will not regret it.
