Thayer's Rose left skin tacky

I tried my Thayer's Rose for the first time today. I loved the subtle rose scent and it seemed to really moisturize and sooth my skin. What I didn't like is the sticky feel that lingered for hours.

Is this from the lack of alcohol? I bought some Dickinson's too. I'm thinking of putting some of it on first then, before the Dickinson's dries down, the Thayer's on top of it. Essentially, I want the cool, dry feeling of the alcoholic witch hazel, with the moisturizing, aloe and scent of the Thayer's.

Hm, I've used the Thayer's Rose in the past and never experienced a tackiness afterwards. Perhaps it is because I almost always followed it with an after shave of some sort.

I noticed that too sometimes when I first started using it. When I just applied a smaller quantity to my face, that seemed to help. I also found the following method to be helpful:
After the final cool water rinse, do not dry face with a towel.
Allow face to partially air dry, leaving a small amount of water dampness, then apply the Thayer's.
