My wife and I had most of the relatives last weekend. Even though it is just her and I here this weekend I wanted to do a little something to celebrate Easter No candied peels in the house so I needed to make some from scratch . . . including eating two clementines to get the peels. I'm saving the lemon and the citrus simple syrup that was made in the process for lemon chicken at a later date.
I cut the crosses into the dough after they had risen. Drizzled in a little flour and water. With the vanilla sugar glaze they really didn't need icing. I used Anna Olsen's recipe which you can find online.
