What's new

Just started straight shaving

I'm using this Proraso Soap https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001JHEY1...bc0b-ee5b46b8a122&ie=UTF8&qid=1520901627&sr=1 . I've read it's good to use a slick soap, and was wondering how that compares in terms of slickness.

I’ve used both Green and Red for SR shaving. Haven’t tried White yet as you have there. Both are quite capable of making slick enough lather (though as @shavefan mentions, the Proraso Single Blade line is a step above); Green is the easiest to whip up.

Nothing wrong with adjusting your skill to a value soap like Proraso. There are lots of options, just depends on your budget.

It's an average soap, as far as I know. Not bad, but not the best, either. The question is whether or not you are satisfied with it. Does it give you the slickness that you need, or is it lacking?

I have shaved with the green Proraso many many times. It is my travel soap, because it lathers very easily, regardless of the water. It's fine for straights.
