What's new

It used to be that...

My brother & I would ride our bikes nearly a mile away from home to pick blackberries. My mom wasn't worried about us. We were 6 & 8 years old.

When I was born we still had segregated water fountains in the South. Women made 64 cents to every dollar made by a man and 34.3 % of Americans were high school graduates. There were some lovely things about the good old days, but not everything was rosy.

When we were kids our lives seemed to focus on the outdoor life, baseball , road hockey, building tree forts, and of course our bikes were everything to us. Pre-internet life as a kid was pretty rich. Growing up back in the 60s was a tech free existence. All we had was B&W TV and phone that hung on the wall in the kitchen.
