how to remove hard water stains on gold wash

Try a stronger solution. If it is hard water and nothing else vinegar shuold take care of it. You may want to try a very small droplet first to see if it doesn't damage the goldwash.

When I thought about the stains and mineral deposits our local hard water leaves in my tea kettle, I figured the same thing is going on in my kidneys. I bought a filter system. I filter all my drinking and cooking water now. Your post makes me think I should start using the filtered stuff for my shaving, too.

Finally. Used vinegar to remove it. Worked. :thumbup1:
No damage to the gold wash.. A bad quality gold wash by the way.

Regards to all,
Felipe

Good Going!:thumbup1:

Gold wash is pretty fragile. So little is used, and it is so soft. When I'm doing a restoration on a blade that has gold wash and it has rust around it, it's not going to survive. Billy might have a method in saving it but I sure don't.
