What's new

Another one of *those* threads -- Old Gillette Question

Okay, I was trying to do my due diligence on a razor for auction on the Bay. I think I've determined that it's an early (1921) New Improved. My question is around the material of construction. The seller advertised it as Ag plated and the tarnish certainly looks like it could be. But there's nothing in the Wiki about whether these razors came in a Ag plate. So I figured I'd turn to the experts. Were these razors really Ag plated?

Second question -- several teeth are bent. Do y'all know of anyone who works on these and can repair it to user condition?

Thanks!

Yes, they were really silver plated. The New Improved models were the premium line during the '20s.

As for the teeth, you can take the razor to a local jeweler and he/she ought to be able to put them straight.
