Another I-am-having-problems-getting-this-day-in-gear day. Did go to a fine dinner party last night that featured very good tequila, the after dinner stuff that rivals the best French Cognac and good cigars. Not hung over, just have enough energy to drink some coffee and look at the news on the net.
My only accomplishment so far is a fine shave.

I hadn't used the '75 Gillette black handle yet, which I purchased from Guido here . . . it was just too pristine. But, since it was, after all, from the same era as my OS mug (filled with HBS Sandalwood Vanilla at the moment) I pulled it out for a 4-pass "Sunday Shave" . . . and am quite impressed with it. Comparable to my '61 Fatboy set on '4' but without the weight, which let me concentrate solely on angle and get a genuine BBS shave today.

I decided to dig out my proraso shave soap from the back of the cupboard, and I found that one of the first wet-shaving products I bought can still give a great shave.
EJ super badger
Merkur HD, with gillette swede
Proraso soap
Proraso ASB
I decided not to got the whole way and use my first set-up with my boar hair brush and gillette fusion. Maybe tomorrow...
Despite my great back to basics budget shave today, my AD's are catching up on me. I just caught my self looking at a couple of silvertip brushes the other day.
Ps. I have just noticed that Ron is very near the big 5k mark. Thanks for all you have contributed so far.
